***RAY'S POV***

No matter how much I wanted to lay down and die, I had shit to do all the time as we prepared for RTX. About a week after my heart was broken, We began to set up for RTX. I no longer had any spare time, and I stopped wallowing in my self-pity, and I surprisingly nearly completely moved on in those two weeks.

As Geoff, Jack, Ryan, Michael, Gavin, and I all walked on stage, you could tell we'd been drinking already, even though it was like 7 in the morning. Of all of them however, I looked the worst. I'd been drinking almost nonstop for the past week and a half.

Geoff tapped the mic, getting the crowd's attention and quieted everyone.

"Welcome to RTX everybody! Where you can hang out with a couple of drunk idiots who play video games. Who else is fucking PUMPED?"

As I looked out over the cheering crowd, I saw an assortment of people. Most of them were young, nerdy, gamer guys around the age of 20, but there was anyone from 11 year girls, to guys in business suits, to people in the back whom you suspected were doing heroin right now.

Geoff continued after the noise died down. "Now as you know, this year is going to be a little different. We will be hosting a little contest for a new member of the team. The group of six that we have now is great, we just wanted to expand it a little. You all submitted applications, and we went through literally thousands of them. We finally narrowed it down to two people, who we will announce, right here, right now. These two will be given a job as an intern, and in December of this year, we'll decide which intern will be given a full job and who will have to submit their resume elsewhere. Now, onto the moment you've all been waiting for. And please clap when you don't win, we all know you're bitter when you lose."

Geoff held up an envelope, showing it to the audience. He pulled out the sheet inside, and unfolded it.

"Our first slave- I mean, intern will be......

Marcus J. Apperson!"

A boy, around 18, walked calmly from the front row, onto the stage. The look on his face obviously showed that he thought he was better than all of us.

"Marcus, are you excited to be working with us??" Geoff screamed at him, shoving a mic in his face.

"I dunno." Marcus said, making it clear he didn't want to talk. Geoff laughed anyway..

"Moving on, the next intern is..........

Logan H. Fletcher!"

The crowd cheered and looked around to try to find the winner, but for a moment it seemed he wasn't here. Then a figure began to move down to the stage, and the crowd cheered louder, until he got on stage.

Or should I say she?

A *girl* got onto the stage and shook Geoff's hand. The crowd looked shocked. Now, there were girls who worked at RT, but none of them actually played games. Whenever we had them play something, it either had to be really easy, or they kinda..... failed miserably. We all knew girls who were good at games existed, but we all just assumed they had better things to do. Gaming is a very guy oriented thing, and for a girl to be chosen, it was much more shocking than it probably should've been.

"How ya doing, Logan? Is it weird to be the only girl on stage?"

She nodded. "Yeah, but it's all good."

The interns shuffled into line with us as Geoff continued on explaining events and stuff about the weekend. We all introduced the schedules for all the rooms for today, and then we walked off the main stage.

I looked at our two new interns and thought "This is gonna be interesting."

Throughout the morning I saw Marcus giving Logan weird looks. Usually she just smiled back, but a few times she stuck out her tongue at him. Marcus didn't seem to get, or appreciate, the joke.
