***RAY'S POV***

We walked back to the convention center together, except for Gavin, who was feeling energetic, and he literally sprinted all the way back, leaving us all to just walk slowly.

I ended up walking next to Logan, and I found myself wondering everything about her. I realized that I'd just met her this morning, and I knew nothing about her, but I wanted to know everything.

"Who are you?" I asked, before I had thought any of this through.

She gave me a confused look. "What do you mean, who am I? I'm Logan Fletcher."

I laughed at her obvious answer. "No, no, I mean like where do you come from, where are you going?"

"I- uh, I dunno. " she mumbled, then she quickly fell silent. I could tell I'd struck a nerve, and she didn't want to talk about her past. I stopped talking before I could dig myself in deeper.

"So where are you from?" She asked after a few minutes, looking up at me.

I smiled down at her. "Grew up in New York. I worked for years on YouTube before I got this job."

We were both silent again, but it was a more comfortable silence this time. We both were just wrapped up in our own thoughts.

As we approached the RTX center, we heard sirens, and saw two police cars parked outside of it.

The day I lost Courtney flashed before my eyes.

My ears were filled with her final scream, and she fell to the floor.

Outside, there was a hoard of police cars, but it was too late. The tears streaming down my face caused my vision to blurr, and I bent down to hug her lifeless body one last time.

I knew I had caused this.

Geoff threw me off her, and pulled me through the back door. We ran far, we ran fast. Nobody suspected a thing. Nobody blamed me. But I knew who the guilty one was, and that was all that mattered.

My thoughts were pulled back to the present as quickly as they had left. Geoff, Michael, and Logan were staring at me, so I knew my eyes were tearing up. Geoff knew what memories the police cars brought up, so he gave me a weak smile. Both Michael and Logan saw this, and they knew not to ask about it. They knew this was something to be left alone. I wiped the tears off my face, closed my eyes, and took a few deep breaths.

When I felt I was calm enough, I opened my eyes again. I felt better now.

We walked over to the cars, to ask them what had happened. In the back of the first one was the man whom had hit Logan.

"Officers, was there a problem here?" Geoff asked. He felt he had a right to know, because he was the head of this event.

The cop barely acknowledged us. "Just a small fight, nothing too serious. You can carry on." And with that, he turned around and now facing the other way, continued writing in his little notebook.

I looked at Logan wondering if she knew what was going on. She held my gaze, and I raised an eyebrow and nodded toward her ex. Knowing what I was asking she shook her head, implying that she knew as much as I did.

At the very end of the day, Geoff called the crew over for one last meeting.

"Congrats guys, we made it through day 1 of RTX again. Nobody fucked up, it all went off without a hitch. If you're done packing up and everything, you bitches can go home and rest. We got a long day tomorrow."
