I want you

As I sleep I feel my face being stroked ever so slightly. It is such a gentle touch, but it is enough to wake me. When I roll over onto my other side, I notice the empty space beside me where Will should be. A confused expression appears on my face as I look around our room. Where could he be? I swing my legs over the bed and stretch my arms above my head. That's when I see a single red rose in a vase on the bedside cabinet, with a folded note with my name on it. So I pick up the piece of paper and begin to read. The note is from Will, of course, telling me that he is sorry to have left on such short notice, that he has work to do. He didn't want to wake me up so instead he left a note and a flower. The smile on my face increases, Will is so thoughtful and romantic.

Now that I know where Will is, I get up from the bed and put my robe on to cover myself up. Not that it would matter, no one else is around to see me. Better to be safe than sorry, I suppose. I make my way into the sitting area of our suite, only to find Donovan helping himself to a drink. He is alerted to my presence, so he turns around to face me, raising his glass of bourbon into the air. I tie my robe tightly now that I know he is here. He is also wearing a robe, his is black and shiny, and he is shirtless. Luckily he is wearing black trousers so not everything is on display.

"What are you doing in here?" I ask as I make my way over to him slowly. Not breaking eye contact. I'm pretty sure I made it clear that I wanted him to stay away. Looks like he has chosen not to listen. That doesn't surprise me in the slightest.

"Can't a man have a drink?" He tilts his head to the side, pretending that he doesn't understand the issue with this.

"Not in here he can't." I take the glass from his hand and finish the drink myself. Slowly a smirk works its way onto his face. "If you want to drink so badly, you know where the bar is." I remind him that my Hotel suite isn't the place for him to be.

"I would, but it isn't open yet." He pointed out as he looks around the room. "I like what you have done with this place." Donovan expresses his approval. The rest of the Hotel is so dull and boring. It's about time for some change. He makes himself comfortable by lounging on your sofa, running his hand through his brown hair.

"Well, Will has always had a good taste." I assert, sitting across from him on the sofa opposite. In all honestly, I should show him the door. But he is doing no harm being here, so I decide to leave him be.

"Oh yeah, that guy." Donovan screws his face up at the very mention of his name.

"Do you have a problem with Will?"I raise an eyebrow questioningly.

"Damn right I do!" He raises his voice, sitting back up on the sofa. "He walks around the place like he's Mr Right. But I see right through him." Donovan speaks harshly of my fiancé. And I can tell he means every word of it. The look of hatred all over his face.

"You don't know him like I do." I disagree with him, sure Will has his flaws like everyone else. But he is a good man. No one can take that opinion away from me.

"Don't give me that bullshit. I know enough about him already, just from his little speech last night. And they say I'm full of shit." Donovan shakes his head and lets out a slight laugh.

"If that's what you think, that's what you think." I simply shrug my shoulders. There is no point in continuing this conversation. I really don't feel like arguing, so I decide to change the subject. "Your partner is very beautiful, what is her name?" When I ask him this his expression loosens, to the point that I can't tell how he's feeling or what he is thinking. Totally expressionless.

"She's not my partner..." He turns his face to the side, I can see that he is biting the inside of his cheeks. I guess that was the wrong thing to say judging by his reaction. "Well she was, but not anymore." After some time, he faces my direction again, once he has calmed himself down.
