Marinette's pov
Pushing past people in the bakery and with no word to her parents, she ran up the stairs and collapsed on her bed.
"But... isn't this a good thing, Marinette?" asked Tikki, flying out of her clasp bag. "I mean, your ideal dream boy, Adrien, turned out to be Chat Noir! And he asked you out! What will you do?"
Rolling on her back and looking up to the ceiling, Marinette sighed and said, "I just don't know, Tikki. I'm not even sure if he likes me- like, me me. Marinette. Chat Noir has always liked Ladybug. It's the only reason he asked me out." rolling back on her side, she began to cry. "Oh, Tikki! What do I do? To find out Adrien is Chat Noir... well, it's a dream come true. But," she wiped a tear away, "I'm not sure if it's really meant to be."
Sitting up and walking to the balcony, she breathed in the fresh air and cried some more. "If only he wasn't Chat Noir... if only I wasn't Ladybug... then maybe we'd have a chance."
The wind whirled around her and she felt a presence behind her. She turned and was shocked to see what she saw.
"I heard what you said, Marinette... but I've always been intrigued by you. My lady," he bowed and took a step closer to her, "perhaps I asked you such a heavy question on a whim. Maybe... we should take our time."
"A-adrein I... didn't mean it! Just, uh, forget what I said about you, o-okay? Everything's fine!" said Marinette who was now panicking. Did he hear what I just said? Oh, no! I must've sounded like such a loser! I have to think of an excuse, and fast!
"I... uhh.."
"Marinette," said Tikki, "You can't lie to him anymore. He already knows you're Ladybug!"
"Oh, wow! Is that your Kwami? She's very cute!" Adrien said as he extended his hand for Tikki to rest on. Plagg did instead and gave Tikki an evil glare.
"Get out of here, you rotten Ladybug! Adrien's got to focus on his mission!" Plagg crossed his arms. "Hmph!"
"Oh, Plagg, I was hoping to see you, hehe!" Tikki giggled. "It's been a while since we've seen each other!"
Scoffing, Plagg hid behind Adrien's hair. "Tikki... Ladybug... Hawkmoth... Adrien..." he mumbled to himself.
"Anyways, Marinette, I'm sorry about before. I've obviously made you upset," he frowned at took a step away. "Gotta fly, Marinette. I'll see you at school tomorrow."
"Adrien, wait!" she grabbed his arm right as he turned away. "Huh?" he asked.
"L-look... this is kinda embarrassing to admit, but... well..." she stuttered and looked down shyly. "I've actually always liked you, Adrien. A lot. But I'm scared that you won't like the real me. I'm afraid you'll disappear when you find out who I really am," a tear fell from her eye, "and I don't think I'll be able to do tha-"
Cutting off her sentence, Adrien went in for the kill and placed his lips gently upon hers. The world was quiet for a moment. Marinette closed her eyes and savored the moment, a single tear falling from her eye and traveling down her cheek. He wiped it away while kissing her more deeply.
"Mmm..." hummed Marinette as he did so. Both realizing what she had just done, they opened their eyes in shock and pulled away, blushing.
Marinette blushed deeply and looked at the ground. "I-" she began, but he cut her off once more. "So, is it yes then?" he asked and smirked.
"I- what?" she looked back at him, confused.
"Well, it's obvious that now we're dating, right?" he leaned it a little closer and whispered, "I mean, it did sound like you enjoyed it."
Her eyes widened in shock. Oh, yeah, that. "L-look, I didn't mean anything by that!"
"Well, anyways, my lady..." said Adrien as he lifted her hand to his lips. "I really must go, my father's waiting. I'll speak to you tomorrow," he bowed and gently placed his lips on her hand. "See you around, Ladybug!"
And off he went.
Looking at him transform as he jumped to the street below, she yelled, "You stupid cat! Why not tell all of Paris my secret!" but secretly, she was pleased. She finally had Adrien all to herself.
Or so she thought.
Waving him away, she sighed and walked back into her room happily.
"How could this day get any better?"
"Oh, I know how," said Khloe, down at the street below, who happened to see Chat Noir jump from the balcony. "I know your little secret Marinette."
"What secret, Khloe?" asked Sabrina, coming out of the bakery with two pastries.
"That she loooves Adrien! Not only him, but Chat Noir! And I even got a picture! She's going to be so humiliated!" she laughed, and so did Sabrina.
The day eventually came to an end, and the sweet taste of Adrien on Marinette's lips lulled her to sleep, along with the distant chime of church bells in the distance.
