After Julie ran away I tried chasing after her. Before bolting, I had briefly forgotten that Julie had done track. Damnit Julie! Why are you running, she never acts like this. Something huge must've had to happen for her to react so dramatically. Maybe if I told her something else, she would forget the horrible thing? It's worth a shot. I sent out a one-girl-search-party containing, me, myself, and I, we work together well so why not?

I found her sitting alone in her favorite place in the school, the school's grotto. It's a big school, let's leave it there. "Julie, what the hell are you running from?" I said while panting.

"You!"

And with that she jolted away from me, I attempted calling out to her but she ignored me, before I knew it, lunch period was over. I didn't see Julie for the rest of the school day. Why would she run from me? What did I do? I told the leader of the homecoming-assemble-team that I couldn't help today, that I had too much to do. Thank goodness she is such an understanding person. I just wanted to cry.

*beep beep*

My phone gave off a little buzz, I checked it to find a message from my mom:

Hey honey, how was your day? Actually, don't answer that, I need you to do something: I need you to help babysit Mason's little sister with him, her name is Maya.

Mom, do I have to? Kinda not in the mood

Yes! You do! Me and Mason's mom are going out tonight

Mom, it's Mason's mom and I

Meh, same difference, so, I'm taking that as a yes

Fine

Glad to hear you volunteer!

I separated my eyes from my screen and pulled my car out of park after taking a deep sigh: Hopefully, Julie will forget. Good luck with that wish, her memory is impeccable! Damnit, my inner voice is right. I just hope she forgives, whatever I did that made her mad at me. After a brief drive, but still a long enough one to play my favorite Adele song, I pulled up into Mason's driveway. Remember, you're here to babysit, don't fall again.

I walk up onto their porch while trying to fight back my fluttering stomach and beating heart, FOCUS!!! I see him look out his window and at me, I wave with simplicity and he flashes his joyous and youth-like smile, he's SOOO cute!! He took the little girl (who I'm assuming is Maya) off of his lap and placed her back on the couch. He's gentle too! Omfg, FOCUS!!!

He turned the doorknob and opened the door for me, well, at least I THOUGHT it was him. When, in reality, it was the little girl he was holding on his lap, she looked like the little toddler girl version of him. It seemed like insanity how much her eyes and hair looked like his. She had a white flower headband on and kept a straight face, then, after seemingly to have scanned my face, she lit up and shined a white smile at me, "Come in." She sounded high-pitched and peppy. So adorably cute! I swear, their family is so flawless it's unreal.

"Come on in Scarlett, don't be shy." I walked into their house and took in the beauty of how modern and perfect, yet homie, it was. I loved their place, it was much different from my house, I have marble floors, bleach white tiles on the walls, and a glass ceiling, much more stereotypically rich rather than their amazing modern-feel. There was a leather couch against their wall window, a rug centered with light and dark gray (dark on the rim, light in the inner area), and a large flat screen tv on top of their grey stone fireplace. Upon the mantle rested family photos. His family is too perfect! His mom is stunning. His dad is handsome. His sister is adorable, and he's cute af!!!!!

"Take a seat Scarlett, make yourself at home." I was too in awe to blush, though I would have, I sat down on their couch as Maya ran up to me holding her dolls, one in each hand. "Hey, you can take care of her for now, right? I'm just gonna go cook something for us all to eat, Maya, what do you want?"

Maya's face lit up, "Ooooo, I want Puhscettie!!"

"Spaghetti it is." Mason gave off a little boy-giggle. Until Mason finished cooking, Maya and I played a game where our dolls fought crime, honestly it was the cutest thing ever, how she got so caught up in the game and stuff. "C'mon guys! Food's ready!"

I propped Maya up on my arm and carried her into the kitchen where Mason secured her in her seat. Mason and I sat close. To each other, really close. I blushed but he didn't notice. As dinner continued, I thought he wouldn't notice me, or, at least he wouldn't act like it. But that thought changed. After Maya was finished, he brought her up to bed and I washed the dishes, it was actually a nice change.

When Mason came back down, he reached across me and shut the water off, I wasn't even done washing them. He smoothly glided his hand to a towel and he grasped the towel around my hand with a firm and gentle grip. He looked up at me, "Thank you, for staying, I really, really, appreciate it." He began to blush as he placed the towel back on the drawer handle. He looked back over at me, by the time I was blushing, it was just a big ol' blush party. He put his hands on my shoulders and inched towards me. He stopped right in front of my body, but close enough for me to feel is cool breath. He smirked at me and I continued to unwillingly blush.

     He began to lean in-
