Julie and I went to the dance together, but after the boys came along me we ended up losing each other. I searched around the entire dance floor, snack bars, and even bathe bathrooms looking for her again. On my way to re-check the snack bars, I was searching under the table and I bumped into, yup, Mason, "Hey Scarlett." At an attempt and my smooth skills, I tried to stand up and hit my head on the table. I'm so talented. Ugh. "Eeeoooooow..."

"Oh my gosh my Scarlett, are you alright?"

I slowly raised up again rubbing my head

"Yea, I'm fine. Just, uh, tables, you know, they're always, um, being so, table-ish?"

I wanna kill myself, I'm SO AWKWARDDDDDD

"Yea, that's what they're made for." He chuckled at me, and I awkwardly laughed quietly. I'm such a geek.

"Yup... Hehe..."

"So, Scarlett, I was wondering if you wanted to dance?"

What harm could that be? All it was was a dance, and, it was a fast song.

"Tell you what Mason, I'll give you three tonight."

Unless I change my mind.

"Really? Sweet, thanks Scarlett!"

"Hey, can I ask you something?"

"Anything."

Before speaking I kind of thought for a bit.

"Um, why don't you call me Scar other than Scarlett, you're the only one here, at this school, who still calls me that, and I mean only one, even the teachers call me Scar."

"I'm about to get really sentimental Scarlett."

I giggled a little bit. "I don't mind."

"Your name is what makes you who you are. I love who you are, you're always happy, and you bring sunshine into my life. Before I came here, I thought I wouldn't ever be able to truly laugh and feel relaxed again, but, you, you changed that, you proved me wrong, and I love that about you, I don't care if it isn't trending to other people, but right now, you're the biggest trend in my brain, you're the happiness, the funniness, the comfort, and everything in between. That's why I still call you Scarlett."

I was utterly speechless. We stared deeply at each other for a while. Then someone came out screaming, "THEY GOT REAL!!!" Then everyone went chasing after them, maybe if I look in the crowd, I'll find Julie.

Well, I followed the crowd, and Julie, but, GUESS WHAAAAT! Julie was what everyone was chasing after each other to see. She and 'The Nerd' were making out! Actually, that's an understatement, they were eating each other's faces off!!!! Julie would never normally do this, "JULIE ADRIANNA LEEV!!!!" She popped up and after making dead eye contact, she fainted. "JULIE!!!" I rushed her into the nurse's office, and of course, the nurse wasn't there, so, in the cold and empty room, I rested some ice on her head where she had fallen. I sat until she woke up, it took her about 50 something minutes to wake up. "Scar? Why the hell am I in here?"

"I hate to say it Jules, but, I don't know, I think Tristan did something to you."

"Huh?"

"Why don't we just forget about it?"

"Oh, ok?"

I leaned in to whisper into her ear, "On my way putting you on the bed, Jerry waited outside, he hasn't left there."

"How did you?"

"I'm your best friend, we're basically sisters, I know, I could see the way you looked at him when the first slow song came on."

She stared at the ground and did her, 'petite smile'.

"I see Mason out there too."

"Hey, Jules?"

"What's up?"

"I think I figured out who I like for sure now."

"Is it?"

I stared out the door to see Jerry and Mason talking, Julie's eyes followed mine and at the same time, as if it were an instinct, she and I both looked at each other, and smirked.

"Think it'll last Jules?"

"If we don't get at least one dance with them, it'll never start."

I stopped and looked at the clock.

"We don't even have time now."

"Scar, the clock is five minutes early, we still got time for at least one dance."

She knew how to make me come to my senses and smile at the same time. She is my sister. I love her so much, I can't imagine my life without her.

"C'mon, let's go get them!"

She sat up and led me out the door. Right when we got out, Jerry swept up Julie and they hugged. I watched them for a while while tilting my head and smiling, when I looked over at Mason, he was already looking at me. The way he was looking at me, was how most girls dream of someone looking at them.

"Mason, can I ask you another question?"

"Anything." He said jokingly.

"Will you, please, dance with me?"
Julie and I had requested something for the last dance of the night, it was a slow song. It is called 'Tug of War'. And I feel like it's the perfect song for us to have our 'guy moments' with. She and I grabbed our guys by the hands as the song began to play, Jerry and Julie began to dance closely and easily found themselves lost in each other's eyes. As Mason and I first began, he acted awkward, I wrapped my hands around his head and yanked him closer to me. I released his head and grabbed his hands with mine and placed his hands onto my hips, then I wrapped my hands around his head again.

By the time the song had ended, he and I were just staring at each other like always.

"Mason?"

"Yea Scarlett?"

"I want you to know something, but I don't know how to say it."

"What is it?"

"Here, let me show you."

I yanked him to me and passionately kissed him as the song toned down, everyone cheered and the night had ended. I never thought I would be the girl to get the movie ending at a school dance.
