Mason gripped hold of my shoulders and stared intensely into my slightly dilated pupils, the light was shining directly into my eyes but, I attempted to cover it up by being so confused and awkward from Mason's glare. After what seemed like a lifetime of staring, I blinked and next thing I know he's hugging me.
"Scarlett, I am so sorry."
"For what, exactly?"
"Julie told me everything about what happened."
"Since when are you two so close?"
"A few minutes ago."
"Oh?"
"Anyways, I'm sorry I came off as a fuckboi, but, I really do like you."
"Really?"
"I've never been more sure of anything."
"Oh, I don't know what to say."
"How do you feel?"
I searched for the right words in my head, but just before I could begin to speak, I felt Mason's deprivation from me at the sound of my 'brothers' and brother yelling out."Yo! Scarlett! Get inside, we lost the remote and the game is starting!"
They hand-flagged me over, so I simply awkwardly out my hand up and jolted it slightly to the left while pursing my lips. Mason replied with a smile and a mocking of my hand movement. I honestly don't know how I feel about him. He's new, we just met. Then again, he's cute, already confessed, and he's smart. And cute. He's also very cute. And cute."Jeez, chill, I'm comin," I directed my stare back at Mason once my brother left into the doorway, "thank you Mason, but, I gottuh, yea, um, so, yea, uh, um, bye?" I quickly pecked him on his cheek, and I've never felt happier in my life, everything seemed straightened out, Mason has been more open, Ethan's been getting suck-up points, Vincent has been getting much hotter, and I've been staying after school everyday to help with the dance decor. The only thing puzzling me now is who I want to focus on, rumors have been going around that all three guys were going to ask me to the dance.
Julie has suggested I hide, but everyone else has been pressuring me to decide a month before they even ask! Ugh, I don't think I want to be famous anymore, well, actually, that's a lie. Anywho, the dance has been coming out great, if I do say so myself, the lights are dim but light up the room gallantly, the stage is decorated to be a wintery scene with snowflakes, and snow-covered trees, oh my god, I love it. I'm going to go dress shopping with Julie soon for it, I'm so happy that she's actually going to wear a dress!!!!
She agreed to it when we were seven, we made a bet, I won it, and now she has to both go to the dance, and wear a dress to the dance. Congrats me! Also, I get to do her hair and makeup, something that I've been dreaming of for quite a while now. It sounds girly, I know, but hey, she's a tomboy, and I'm taking advantage of my win.
The days before we go dress shopping fly by, and next thing I know, I'm waiting outside of Julie's house to go dress shopping. She comes out wearing a white tank top and some high waisted black jean shorts. She isn't wearing her beanie today though, meh, couldn't have been anything big that happened though, so, meh. She climbs in with a sarcastic pouty face.
"aww, someone's gota big'ol gwumpie face on."
I say sarcastically."Shut up." She gave off a breathy, uh, laugh? Then she pushed me lightly, yet hard enough for me to hit my elbow on my car door. I'm so smooth, and talented, hehe, yea...
"So, what dressy shoppyshops are we going to today?"
It takes me a moment to answer her question.
"I, don't know, Google time."As a normal person would do, I pull up Google on my iPhone 6s and search best dress shops near me. I got a result that looked like a flawless dress shop, especially for Julie's taste, wondering what it is? Not gonna tell you, because that's copyright, I think, wait, no it's not, eh, whatever, still, not gonna tell you.
"Lez do this, Jules."
"Uh oh, here we go, I mean, wee, dresses, sparkles, glitter, shoes, yaaaay..."
She's such a sarcastic drama queen, my god, heh heh.
We pulled up to the store and right as we walked in, I saw the outfit that was perfect for me, it was teal, strapless, was a little over knee length in the front, and trailed down in the back, the bottom half was made up of slight ruffles, and the belted area was of silver and sparkley stuff. I think I'm in love.
Julie on the other hand, took over an hour in the store, she kept saying all the dresses were too girly until we finally found the right dress, it was an off-white top part, with a long, and sleek, lower half that had a slit at the corner. She said it was good enough, then we tried them on, and to my luck, both fit perfectly. We checked them out and I showed the dress to my mom over Skype, when I was five, my parents divorced, they refuse to tell us why, but I think one of them caused it all. She and I don't talk to frequently but, when we do, I have both the feeling of wanting to make her feel the way I did, and also wanting to hug her. She responded happily, so, I guess she was ok with my choice, she said it looked nice on me.
My brother didn't like it though, he said it was 'too revealing.' I know he's just a sarcastic person, that's why I love him though.
