"7:30 he said he would pick me up," I explained to my roommate while lying on the couch in the living room. Eating velveta macaroni is not a good combination with cute outfits.

"Good god, Madison! He's coming in twenty minutes and you're sitting on the couch calmly in your bra! Are you serious?" She muttered, running into my bedroom to look for clothes.

After explaining what I thought was Harry's situation for the whole day, Lola understood what a big date this would be.

"You're lucky I'm such a good friend!"

I giggled and kept watching the news. Announcements of a new aquarium, an unfortunate shooting about eighty miles away, and some politics were reported.

As Lola shuffled back in, I smiled up at her, giving her my best fake grin.

She scoffed and threw the clothes at me and I looked down.

A denim looking light-wash skirt and a peach bralette was placed in front of me.

"I mean, is this what you wear to this stuff? A music festival?"

Lola shrugged and rolled her eyes, "You should be fine. Ryan and I went to one last year and we were lucky if we even saw people with clothes on."

My eyes bulged and she laughed at me.

"You're so innocent. It's so damn cute Mads!" She teased, ruffling my hair.

While slipping it on, I crinkled my nose and stuck my tongue out at her when there was a knock on the door.

"I got it!" We both yelled.

I took off towards the door in my small wedges, but Lola barely cut in front of me.

As I skidded to a stop, she opened the door and accidentally elbowed me in the ribs as I fell backwards.

Harry looked at me and chuckled nervously, holding a small bouquet of flowers in one hand.

With his free hand he helped me up.

I just stared up at him, checking out his six-foot-something frame.

I must've been pretty obvious too, because Lola gave me a friendly kick in the calf.

I then directed my gaze towards the flowers.

"Are these... For me?" I asked stupidly.

He laughed again, "Yeah, of course they are."

Lola smiled on the side and took them from him.

"I'll put these in water. You two should head out. Last year it was insane! Have fun!" She paused, and leaned in close to Harry, "Take good care of her, and have her home before one am."

Harry smiled at her, "Will do."

The door was gently closed behind us.

"Quite a fall you took there. You're just getting banged up this week, aren't you?" He teased, smiling down to me.

"Oh, save it!" I snapped jokingly, giving him a friendly shove on the chest, "I guess I'm not as athletic as Pro Surfer over here."

He laughed down at me, shaking his head.

As we continued our stroll down the walkway from my front door, I could already tell Harry was a gentleman.

"Watch your step," he'd politely point out, or he'd hold the small of my back while opening the car door for me.
