The Lullabies That Keep Me Sane [A Compilation of My Poems]

Follow The Raven [Based off of Ember!]

This is one of the few poems I have that actually rhymes! So, I hope you enjoy that about it! AND this is also a very special poem because it's based off the story of one of the characters in my progressing book: Ember.

It's based off Lilith, so if you'd like to go check it out... she appears so far in Chapters 2 & 5 and she'll continue to appear throughout it! :D

Follow The Raven

I’m wandering in the snow

Ravens lag in tow

My feet are numb with cold

A pain I am, they told

I feel so betrayed

The shadows can rot in a grave

It just isn’t fair

The black in my hair

And the lies that they whispered

Left my heart cold and blistered

The way they quicked

And their tensions heightened

When they stopped to say hi.

Normal, I wasn’t

To me, night was pleasant

I crouch in the frost

My hope completely lost

And cover my face

In desperate haste

The crows creep nearer

My senses leaving dearer

And my eyes still fold

To hide the lies that they told

The pain they never showed

Madness untold

And my anger grows still

To form a gigantic volcano hill

As the raven tugs at my gown

It creeps around like a ghost

Circling without a sound

Its shadow glued behind it

Gray against the white

And its beady eyes rid of any light

A disturbing sight

And amidst the circus of my life

There is still that shard of creeping light

Penetrating my soul with cutting questions

Hitting me with white suggestions

Leaving me to accept my own confessions

Of the progression and possession of my sinister shadow art.
