We got our seats and like I thought, it was expensive. But our parents also wanted to pay for the meal, too. So.

The waitress was a girl I knew from Goode. She was a grade above me. Always dreamed of opening her own restaurant.

I guess start somewhere, right?

"My god its expensive here." Nico commented. "Why did you insist on coming here?"

"It's our anniversary." I tell my boyfriend. "And we made it to college. You have to celebrate somehow. Might as well make it something to remember."

"I suppose." He agreed as the waitress walked over. The girl from Goode and took our order. Nico ordered shrimp, with Alaskan Salmon, and a small bite thing of King Crab. I got the tenderloin, with a risotto, and a caprese salad. Then of course our drinks. Which we got bubble tea.

Nico had gone to the bathroom and while he was there our drinks and food came and Katherine, the girl I went to school with, of course asked. We were best friends in high school. She was one of the first to know I was gay.

"And why didn't I know you had a boyfriend before now?" Katherine questions.

"He didn't go to school with us and plus." I explained myself. "You were already graduated, and never answered your dam phone."

"I was busy." She agreed. "So why such a fancy place?"

"My dad is paying for it." I tell her. "But it's two year anniversary. We didn't get the chance to do something nice last year."

"Then I'll leave you to it." Katherine told me. "Good luck."

A minute later Nico came back and we ate our food and it was delicious and filling. I could barely eat all of what I ordered. But the bubble tea helped finish it off.

As he finished his food, I pulled out a tiny velvet box and looked down at it.

I can do this. Its been two years. We made it this far. I got this.

The bill turned out to be $130.

This is why my dad is paying.

I gave them his credit card and they took it and it was silent for a moment.

"Wow." Nico commented. "2 years already."

"Yeah." I agreed. Thinking about that. "2 whole years. But I have a question for you."

"Hm?" The son of Hades asked me as I stood up and walked over to where he sat. The little box partially open behind my back.

"It's been two whole years together." I tell him. "And they have been amazing. I'm not sure if it can't get any better than what's its gotten. But Nico Lui Di Angelo."

I got down on one knee and displayed the now fully open box with a ring inside.

"Would you marry me?"

Nico ( ・_・)♡

Take my fucking heart now.

Here Percy was, on one knee, asking me to marry him.

I didn't think this day could get any better, but I clearly was wrong.

This huge smile and a wave of pure bliss just came over me to the realization of this is real, he's asking this of me.

"Yes." I answered. "Yes, I'll marry you."

Whatever sense of worry that had been on Percy's face before was now totally gone and washed away by joy as he placed the ring once in the box, onto my finger and we both stood and shared a slow, but sweet kiss. Which earned a small applause from the others in the restaurant that had experienced this.

I kept my eyes shut, smiling, just letting this all sink in.

I'm alive. I'm in college. And I'm engaged to the man who has driven me crazy for as long as I've known him.

Life can't get any better than this.

We headed out of the restaurant and eventually had to separate at the dorms and my dorm mate was there. It was somebody I knew. He was a few years older than I was, I met him the second time leaving camp. His family found me in the street and they took me in that year until I was called in for the war and I never got a chance to go back. Camp needed help and most people went home.

At first, I didn't recognize him. And he lived in Minnesota. One reason why I wanted to at least try to get into a college in Minnesota. I owed them one hell of an apology. Especially to Andrew. The one who was a few years older than me. I'm pretty sure he would've taken it the worst when he wakes up and I'm not there with a note that says I might be back. Might. Don't rely on it, though.

I was going to go back after the wars.

But you know... I had a sister. Who wouldn't let me leave either camp. I tried calling, but they never answered their phones. I did leave voicemail for everyone.

Andrew (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Waiting for my dorm mate to show up, I got an alert for a voicemail.

First of all, my stupid phone, the voicemail was like 4 years old. And I'm just getting it.

From Nico.

Of course I listened to it.

"Hey, Andrew, its Nico." His voice came over. "Sorry about leaving how I did, it wasn't exactly a choice. But I'm okay. I'm alive. I'm over in Manhattan. I'll probably be here for a while. If I can come back ever the chances are pretty low. Stuff has been insane. But I'll try to get back. Again, sorry about leaving. I didn't want to, but I had to. Its complicated. But yeah. Hopefully I'll see you again one day. Bye."

Nico was one of my best friends when he was around. It sucked when he left. I always wanted to ask him out somehow but I never had the guts. Mainly because he was obviously straight.

Well my dorm mate walked in.

Nico walked in.

I recognized him instantly, although he didn't seem to recognize me. He had changed a bit at first, but everyone does. He seemed pretty happy, and it didn't take me long to notice something.

The ring on his finger.

I can only hope its a promise ring.
