"Darling!" Mum cooed at me from behind my closed door"do you know which day it is?"."Um,Saturday"I whispered tiresome ."No Friday so that means..."school!" We both said in union sighing.Watching the monotone tv , I telegramed John about a warning of a sandstorm that neither of us took seriously.
Apparently,a warning meant we had to go to school early in order to collect all of the children together.Without a bus available I had to walk with John,who was currently ill and would be for a while as the medicine was in the next town.Sometimes I felt sorry for John-he had a condition which meant his immune system wasn't as strong as everyone else's.Due to the before fact,he got ill very often.Normally,it would take us 30 mins to walk to school however John couldn't walk that fast ,therefore I slowed down for him.Suddenly the wind picked up like normal which we could use as an excuse for our lateness.John cried in pain.To help him I took his school bag from around his shoulders and put the bag on my shoulders.Sand decided to glide like a bird into my eyes blinding me.Then we saw a girl lying on the road in the distance.On the horizon,she lay still. Still as the dead....
