Four year old Demi sat behind the couch as her drunken father yelled and screamed at her mother. This wasn't an abnormal occurence. She sat in the fetal position and rocked back and forth crying. The only thing she wanted was for the fighting to stop. She suddenly heard a slapping sound and her mother wimper in pain. She ran to the room where they were fighting and yelled for her father to stop. "Stop Daddy! Please stop? You're hurting her!" she yelled at him as he smacked and kicked her on the ground.
"You want me to stop do you?" he walked toward Demi as she cowered away in the corner. He smacked her face.
"Ouch Daddy, stop!" she screamed in pain. He reared back to smack her again and her mother caught his hand.
"Don't you lay a hand on her again!" she yelled and smacked him across the face. He reared back and punched Demi's mother in the gut. She yelped in pain. Demi ran into her room and cried herself to sleep.
