Chapter 7: The Flames of Jealousy

Later after about 20 mins of collecting food, Austin, Missy, and Thalia head back inside to start cooking up the potatos and seeing how far everyone else had gotten in their jobs.

Declan and Emma were now lounging the crafting room, having finished making everyone armor and weapons they were left to entertain themselves from trying to jump from furnace to furnace.

"Woah!" Declan shouts as he faceplants on the ground after falling off the furnace, right as Missy walks in.

"Hahahaha" Missy cracks up, "Good thing we put the carpet in here or that really would've hurt!"

"It did really hurt." Declan grumbles sitting up and gingerly rubs the side of his head then gets up.

Thalia and Austin join Missy in the crafting room, both try to conceal their laughter as they see Declan sitting on the floor with a big red mark on his forehead.

"Well Missy, we've been done with our job for some time, anything else you want us to do?" Emma asks hoping down from the crafting bench she was sitting on.

"Well, I hear that there might be some wild horses nearby, see if you can find some and tame them." Missy exclaim.

"Alrighty then!" Emma says enthusiasticly, "Come on Declan" She pulls him up onto his feet and starts pushing him out the door.

"I'm going, I'm going!" Declan says annoyingly as they both walk out of the base towards a plains biome.

"Hey Missy, are you good at cooking? Well we need to cook these potatos and I need to go help those two out with taming the horses, they forgot the saddles." Austin says with that same old smirk.

"Sure I am actually a pretty go-" Missy starts to say.

"Ooooh! I'm absolutely amazing at cooking! No need for Missy I'll do it, and they will be the best cooked potatos you've every had." Thalia says bragging to Austin.

"She's even trying to show off to him" Missy thinks darkly to herself, "I need to keep up or I'm going to loose him."

"Oh, alright then! Well, I'll be back soon I hope, see you two later!" Austin smiles, jogging out the front door off into the direction Emma and Declan went.

Thalia grabs a handful of potatos and walks toward the furnace but... hesitates. She set the potatos down on the table and walks to our storage room to get some fuel for the furnace. Missy begins to suspect that Thalia has no idea what she is doing, so she grabs a few stacks of potatos and begins to slowly and carefully cook them as not to burn them.

Thalia walks in carrying a LOT of coal. Seeing that Missy has already started she hurries over to her furnace. "Darn, she's really good at cooking, those potatos smell amazing." Thalia thinks in her head, "I don't want to be out done by her, I know if I cook these real fast then Austin will think I worked really hard!" She shoves some potatos in the furnace and puts in a bucket of lava. "This should get it cooking really fast!" She thinks to herself proudly, then walks away to get herself a snack while she waits.

While cooking, Missy notices an odd smell among the wonderful aroma of the cooked potatos, something... burnt. Her focus turns away form her potaos and she see's the furnace where Thalia was working only a few moments ago was completely ablaze. In a panic Missy quickly turns off her stove as not to catch another fire and runs to get a potion of fire resistance so she wouldn't get hurt putting out the fire.

Meanwhile Thalia sits in her room, eating a loaf of bread, listening to music while examining a yellow tulip she found in the back yard. "I wish Austin gave this to me." She daydreams.

Missy runs back into the furnace room, and is stopped by what she sees. The entire room is ablaze, and is quickly spreading.

"Why did we make our base wooden?!" Missy says to herself, then splashes the potion over herself, it was only going to last for a few minutes but nonetheless she heads for the furnace. She checks inside to see some ashes, "Probably what is left of her potatoes." Missy thinks, and a LAVA BUCKET?! "WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!" Missy screams quickly grabbing the bucket and the rest of the potatos that were not burned to ashes yet and quickly stored them in a chest outside.

Missy dashes in, the fire was spreading to everyone's rooms now. She starts patting out the fire when a scream peirces the crackling hot air of the fire. "HELP!" The voice shreeks, it was Thalia. Missy runs to her room and sees she is cornered in her room, surrounded by a wall of fire.

"I'll save you!" Missy shouts, running through the fire, lifts Thalia off the ground into her arms then charges back through the fire out of the base. Thank goodness for that potion.

"What were you thinking?! Using a lava bucket just to cook a few potaos?!" Missy shouts in Thalia's face.

Thalia begins to tear up, "I-i just wanted to get the work done fast."

"We'll be lucky if our base doesn't burn down fast." Missy grumbles, "Stay here!" She grabs a bucket of water and runs back into the blazing house.

The air was thick with smoke and it was hard to see but Missy starts throwing water onto the fire, she had to save all of their supplies or they'd never be able to hunt down Herobrine.

Austin, Declan, Emma, and now Grace were headed back toward the base. Un aware of the event unfolding they slowly walkekd back holding tightly to the reins of 6 beautiful horses, when suddenly Austin catches something off in the distance.... smoke.

"Missy... Thalia...." He breathes their names and drops the reins to his horse, then runs off toward the flaming base.

"Austin! Where are you going?!" Declan calls out to him but he is already too far away.

Back at the base Missy has saved most of the supplies and is now desperately trying to put out the fire with her water bucket. Then her water evaporates, the flames around her were to big to be extinguished. Suddenly, the effect bubbles of her potion vanish... Searing pain spreads across Missy's body as the flames around her engulf her.

She was going to die....
