Monday Night Raw - (1/2/12) 10:46 p.m.

"Voices" filled the entire arena, and Randy Orton walked out.

"Introducing first," said Justing Roberts, the ring announcer, "from St. Louis, Missouri, weighing in at 245 pounds... he is The Viper... Randyyyyy Ortoooonnn..."

The faintest hint of a smile appeared on his firm, chiseled face as he looked around at the thousands of fans cheering with their large signs and Superstar T-shirts.. But of course, as Randy got to the ring, his expression returned to serious... He climbed up the turnbuckle ropes and took a deep breath.... The WWE Universe overwhelmed his mind and body with these surges of power... causing him to become 200% more confident and focused... Obviously, he'd never tell them that. 

He did his signature double hand-raise as the lights flashed over his long, sleek figure and his theme music continued to blare throughout the sold-out Staples Center arena..

"I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand they talk to me...."

"... talk to me..."

"... voices...."

When he stepped down off the ropes, he immediately put his game face on.. 

His opponent for tonight was the Big Show... the nearly 500-pound, largest athlete in the world with hands the size of footballs... 

But Randy wasn't the slightest intimidated.. No man has ever been able to scare him before.. The Viper just doesn't feel that kind of emotion...

Then Randy's music seized...

His jaw tightened and he licked his lips as he anticipated the arrival of his next soon-to-be RKO'd victim...

......."Destroy him.." the metaphoric Voices in his head echoed....

"...RKO...."

"....DDT..."

".... Punt.."

Randy closed his eyes and moved his head around, coyly... He was completely focused and ready to go. But the theme music he heard.... did not belong to the Big Show.

"Pourquoi?" filled the arena...

And Maryse walked out.

Randy narrowed his eyes and frowned at her as she made her way towards the ring. When she got closer and was heading over to the annouce table, he angrily mouthed, "What are you doing?" He told her before he came out to stay backstage during his match.

"I don't need a distraction," he had said. 

But Maryse just smirked and gave him "the Hand." 

He watched her in disbelief as she sat down at the table and put the headphones over her head. She smiled at him and waved...

Randy was about to yell at her, when the Big Show's theme started, almost frightening him...

He turned around swiftly and the crowd went wild as the large, helluva man walked out onto the stage.. He, too, had his game face on, ready to tangle with The Apex Predator...

Randy regained focus in under 3/4s of a second, clenching his teeth and squeezing his fists in eagerness to get his hands on Show....

When Big Show climbed over the top ropes to get in the ring, Randy immediately lunged forward and the Referee had to hold him back.. 

The bell finally rang and the two men circled eachother... their eyes locked in an unbreakable gaze....

It was Randy (of course) that threw the first punch...

Maryse - Commentary

"Hey Maryse," said Michael Cole. "How are you tonight? You look lovely, as always." 

She grinned at him."I'm great, thank you Michael.."

"Hi Maryse," Jerry Lawler said in neutrality.

"Helloo Jerry.."

"So Maryse, I'm assuming you're here to support your boyfriend, Randy Orton."

"Well he's not officially my boyfriend  yet... He told me to not come out during his match tonight, but... I don't think I can stay away from him that long." 

"Aw, that is so sweet, don't you think Jerry?"

"Yeah, I suppose so," Jerry said. "But don't you think he'll be mad that you didn't listen to him?"

Maryse took a while to answer. "...No, of course not."

"Yeah, Jerry, don't you know that Randy loves her?" Michael Cole shook his head. "Well I guess you wouldn't know anything about love, King because you've never been in love!" He laughed and Maryse did too.

Jerry glared at him and held up his fist. "How would you like to know what it's like to be in a coma?"

Back in the ring, Big Show was man-handling Randy for the entire first half of the match. He knocked him down with a huge clothesline and Randy yelled in pain.. When he tried getting up, Big Show held his neck and threw him over the top rope...

Randy hit the floor with a loud thud. Maryse stood up and covered her mouth. "Oh my God.. is he okay?" Big Show was catching his breath inside the ring, so Maryse took the opportunity to check on him.

She got up, took off the headphones, and went over to Randy.

"Are you alright... Randy... get up... you have to beat him..."

As she was helping him up, the Big Show was starting to come out of the ring... He was heading straight for them, but Maryse didn't notice until she saw the huge man just a few feet away from her.. she let go of Randy, slowly... with fear in her eyes...

(Randy fell back to the floor, helplessly, but managed to crawl away...)

The Big Show, who was now perceived as a "bad guy," locked eyes with Maryse as he walked toward her.. 

"No.. no," she mouthed with her hands up... But Big Show didn't stop, he kept coming closer.. and closer.. and closer...

That's when Maryse looked over at Randy... who was now on his knees... He gave her a look... 

Then... Maryse slapped Big Show across the face (with her left hand so his head turned the other way.. away from Randy's direction..) 

As Big Show looked slowly back at Maryse, his eyes bulging out in anger.. Randy slithered behind him.. He was about to hit her, when Randy Orton turned him around (as hard as he possibly could) and gave him a jumping RKO.

The crowd went wild as the giant fell flat on the floor, and Randy Orton slipped into the ring.. The referee started the count. 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... 9... 10... 

Then the bell rang.

Randy's theme music played and and Justin Roberts announced, "And here's your winner.. Randyyy Ortoonnn.."

Maryse smiled and made her way into the ring...

Randy stood up on the second ropes and lifted his hands in the air as the audience screamed and cheered for him..

When he finally came down, Maryse was waiting for him. He walked over to her with an expression she couldn't quite understand.. Then when she braced herself for Randy's yelling... 

... he took her arm and held it high in the air, as in victory. He looked at the crowd and they clapped and cheered for her too. Maryse smiled...

Randy headed over to the ropes to leave, but not before giving her another look... A look that meant... something... something that Maryse still didn't understand.... But she knew it had to be good.

*The WWE Logo appeared... then faded...*
