There was no denying it. I despised them with ever organ, bone, and cell in my body. They had considered selling my of, all because the scars I had ruined the family reputation. They had tried to sell me if to try and repay all the dept they had from scarring me, torturing me. The fact that they succeeded made me hate them even more.
I was currently rooming with a family of 4. One may look at us an escape from the harsh reality I live in, but there was no way for me to escape, I was a prisoner of my own mind, my inability to hear made everything even more difficult. I had no way to communicate with anyone, for I had been deaf my whole life, so I had no way to learn to talk.
When I was born, the doctors took one look at my disfigured ear and immediately told my family I would never be able to hear. If only they hadn't told them that, it would have spared me more if I had just figured it out myself. But I never realized how, anytime they hit me, they would flinch. I thought it was because they regretted doing that, but I never would have guessed it was because I was different than them. Destined to save the lives of millions. When I found out what I was, I was shocked and not because I was part of it, but because the only family member that didn't beat me, my brother, was part of it as well. The fact that I was so powerful left me speechless, but when was I not. They had been watching to recruit a deaf, mute and abused girl into one of the most powerful army's in the world, even though nobody has heard of them.
