Chapter 2 - Forgotten Past

INTRODUCTION: Zenzu, after catching Mia from a fall, sees a blast from the past - an object that reminded him of the glory days, and of the days so many people died because of who he was.

[Explanation: In case you've been confused by what "jori" or "jorean" mean, here's the meaining!

"Jori" is like the whole idea of "bending" elements like in Avatar: The Last Airbender, except here, there are..."upgrades" and five new elements. Each "jorean" wears a headband marked with a Z colored according to their element:

Dandelion - Earth; Red - Fire; Light blue - Air; Dark blue - Water; Green - Nature; White - Electricity; Yellow - Light; Purple - Dark ]

Chapter 2 – FORGOTTEN PAST

     March 20, 2011

     “Are you okay?” Zenzu asked, pulling her up to her feet.

     Mia couldn’t speak. Her eyes were busy gazing upon Zenzu’s eyes. Saliva trickled down her wide-open mouth. “Wow, you’re gorgeous,” she mumbled.

     Zenzu blushed. He immediately let go of Mia’s waist and hid his arms behind his back. “Can we agree to never speak of this moment again?”

     The girl could barely nod. Seeing this, Zenzu moved her head up and down with his hand. Suddenly, the girl giggled to life. Mia stepped forward, but she lost her footing once more. This time, Zenzu was a little too late to catch her. THUD!

     Sorry!” Zenzu apologized.

     Stars were whizzing above Mia’s head. Her smiling mouth was wide open, with a drop of saliva ready to kiss the floor. Zenzu glanced around, making sure no one had seen the incident. Then, he innocently shied away.

      “Hello, Zenzu Zugoru,” someone called. The voice seemed to come from everywhere. “I’m on the West Wing.”

     He looked to the West Wing and, sure enough, there was a young man standing on the end of the stairs. His blue overalls, blue cap and the mop in his hand indicated a janitor. But his handsome face and clean hands contrasted his crusty uniform. How can anyone do a dirty job yet stay so clean? However, the strangest thing about the guy was his eyes; they glowed deep blue. Were there neon lights behind those corneas?

      “Once again: Hello, Zenzu Zugoru!”

     Zenzu gulped in fear. He didn’t know who this janitor was, yet he knew his full name.

     The janitor said, “Don’t worry, Zenzu. You’ve known me for a very long time. You just don’t recognize me.”

      Did he just read my mind? Zenzu wondered. Then, he said, “Oh, really? Then tell me who you are!”

      “Why don’t you ask her?”

     Zenzu looked over his shoulder and saw Mia massaging the back of her head. From the way her face looked, she didn’t seem too happy. “Sorry!” Zenzu said.

      “It’s okay. It’s okay,” Mia replied, still massaging her head.

     The fifteen year old pointed to the janitor on the stairway, asking her who he was. All Mia said was, “What janitor? I’m the only janitor here! Are you crazy? I think you should go home and rest!”
