Chapter 25
Asia Cambridge Pov.
"I'm Alexis' cousin...And I'm also her brother." Were the words that left Brody's mouth.
I quickly turned my head and looked at him, before turning my attention back to Alexis who had been standing by Ethan who was also shock. By this time the entire room had been silenced by the revelation that Alexis had a brother, and I would have never guessed that her brother would have been Brody.
"Wait what?" Ashley said as we all turned to face Alexis, who stood in the middle of the room quietly as Ethan stood by her in a protective stance. I looked at her then I looked at Brody and noticed that they had the same eyes, and the same drive in them.
Although it had taken me a while to but two and two together, I had realized who Brody was the second he and Aiden started fighting. I don't know why it didn't hit me the day at the park, or when he called me A.C. It should have clicked to me then when he used the nickname that he used plenty of times when I was staying in North Dakota. Back then it had been my fifth time being placed into a strangers home, but I had gotten used to it. I remember walking being in lost in the woods when I met Brody, and although he had been older than me, he had been there for me and treated me like a true friend. Being in North Dakota was truly one of the worst times in my life, and not because of the town that lived in, but because I had been placed in a home with the worst woman ever made on earth, who had treated me as if I was nothing, and thanks to Brody looking out for me the way he did, I was able to survive the worst living situation that I had ever been placed in.
Hearing the sound of someone sighing I turned to look at Eliza Queens as she shook her head softly and rolled her eyes. "Your father told me that you were supposed to be here weeks ago."
Brody only shrugged his shoulders lazily. "And I was here weeks ago. I just didn't report in to you or another Rogue Council member."
"You should have, especially after what Garret told me about the mess you've managed to stir up." Eliza said placing her hands on her hips and eyeing Brody.
We all watched as Mr. Queen, Austin, reached out and placed a gentle hand on her shoulders, causing her to lower her hand on her hips and give in to a long sigh, as she lowered her head.
"Liza, give the kid a break. He doesn't need you or anyone else jumping down his throat, so relax a bit." He said rubbing her shoulder slightly as she leaned in to his touch.
I couldn't help the smile that slipped on my face watching Ashley's parents. It was something that I may have seen once or twice before, especially when Eliza was getting ready to tear into Ashley.
"Now," Austin said clapping his hands together and getting everyone's attention. "I don't know about any of you, but I was under the impression that we were all invited her to have a nice morning meal, so I'm going to sit down and I'm going to eat. And if you all were smart, you'd do the same thing. There's a lot that everyone in this room needs to discuss but nothing will be worked out if everyone is picking fights and lashing out."
With that being said he walked over to the table and sat down, making sure to pull back a chair for Eliza to sit next to him. As if on instinct she followed her husband's lead and sat down at the table as the rest of us followed suit.
I was close to the end of the table sitting in between both Aiden and Brody, as everyone else sat awkwardly trying to figure out what to say while serving breakfast.
