Chapter 27
Nicole Winters
I sat in my room listening to Zach talk about a pack Called Crest Moon, and how Conrad Cohen was some type of Beta there. I didn't really know about everything that he spoke of, but I did get the gist of things. Zach and his family wanted to invite Conrad and his Alpha Christopher Rosewood here to meet Karen and myself, and I found that for the first in my life, Karen and I were in agreement on something.
Although I knew that she didn't want the Alpha here because of what he had done to her mother, I didn't want Conrad here because my mother seemed to be terrified to even talk about him. She made it extremely clear that she wanted nothing to do with that man; that animal. And because of her decision I hadn't mentioned anything of what the Jones were planning to her.
Every since the breakfast at Alexis's and her finding out that the Jones were werewolves, my mother had begun to act as if she had never witnessed what had taken place there. She had begun to ignore what they were and didn't talk about it much. In fact whenever she saw Zach she was contempt and calm, but I knew that deep down, she didn't want much to do with him and his kind, because of what she had witness a long time ago with Conrad.
Sighing to myself, I ran my hands through my hair and looked up at Zach who had been leaning against the wall watching me.
"Penny for your thoughts?" He asked in his cool soothing voice.
"I don't know about this Zach. I don't think that it's a good idea, I mean my mother wouldn't appreciate it if Conrad Cohen just showed up out of nowhere. She's terrified of him." I said looking at him.
"Look Coles, I get it, but I don't agree with your decision. Beta Cohen is your mother's mate, and he would never hurt her. And besides he's not just coming here for her, he's coming to meet the daughter that he didn't even know her fathered." He said pushing himself off the wall, and walking over to me.
I watched as he kneeled before me, while looking me in the eyes with his deep gorgeous brown eyes lingered into mines. He took my hand and brought it up to his lips, placing a small but lingering kiss on my bare knuckles.
"Look, I'm not saying that you or your don't have a say in whether you want to meet Conrad. The truth is, is that my father has already contacted the Crest Moon's pack, and both he and Rosewood are coming. They don't know why their coming, but they are coming. And I just want you to think about this." He said looking me straight in the eyes. "If it were me, and I had just found out that my mate gave birth to my child, and I missed seventeen years of her life, I'd be pissed. But I'd also want to know that child, and know what a wonder woman that she was becoming."
"Zach-"
"I think you should do this. You should meet him, and decide if you want him in your life or not. He's your father, and he didn't do anything to be exed out of your life. You should be the one to decide to know where you came from, and not your mother's feeling for him."
Taking in a deep breath I pushed out of my chair and slowly began to pace around the room.
Zach had a point, Conrad was my father, and from everything that I heard, he didn't do anything to not be in my life.
I had spent the better half of my life, questioning who my father was, and why it was that I never met him, and now I have the opportunity to finally met, to finally know him. Was I about to throw all of my curiosity out the window, because I was afraid of how my mother would take things?
