SURPRISE!!!! I broke my own rules and made a sequel to Breaking Through The Barriers. It may not be how you thought the plot would be but it is one I am madly in love with. Below is a rather short chapter, just to give you an idea with what is going on storyline wise and what to expect in the future. So go on and read my little lovelies :D

October 5, 2016

“Montreal Canadiens’ newest rookie Lauren Armstrong is surely showcasing her talents.”

“You would never know that she has come back after taking a year off from the NHL.”

“The last time we saw her play in a game was way back on April 7, 2015. That was the last game she played for as a Bruin.”

“Yes and she sat out for the rest of the season after getting hit from behind by Florida Panthers’ player Scottie Upshall.”

“Ooh. Josh do you remember that accident?”

“Of course I do, how can anyone forget that? It was reported to be the worst hit of 2015.”

Tyler shut the TV off and let out a huge grunt as he recalled the memory of that dreadful accident.

“Honey are you alright?”

Tyler looked up and saw his girlfriend standing in the doorway. “Yeah, I’m fine Becky.”

Becky nodded her head “Okay, well I’m going for a run. I’ll be back later.”

“Bye.” He said to her has she left.

Tyler got up to get a drink, as he walked over to the kitchen; he stopped in his tracks as he looked at a picture. The picture was from about two years ago, and it included some members from the team. Although now two years later there is one person missing—Lauren. Tyler scoffed and walked over to the fridge to pull out a beer.

Montreal, Québec, Canada

I walked into my condo, tossing my keys on the counter. Adjusting to my new life in Montreal wasn’t that bad, it took some time to get used to, but I’m doing fine now. As I turned to enter the living room a voice said “Surprise.”

I looked up and couldn’t believe who it was “Oh my gosh! Taylor!”

Taylor laughed and wrapped his arms around my waist “Surprised, eh?” he asked as he kissed me.

I chuckled “Of course. How did you get here?”

“Let’s just say that coach did me a little favor.”

I twisted my head to the side “What kind of favor?”

“A favor in which I get to spend two days with my girlfriend.”

“Seriously?”

Taylor nodded “Yep and we better use up every minute.”

Out of nowhere Taylor picked me up and tossed me onto the couch as he proceeded to kiss me. Heck I allowed my boyfriend to continue to kiss me. I mean it’s been three weeks since we’ve last seen each other. Three weeks is a really long time when in a relationship. As we continued to make out my cell began to ring. I scoffed and pulled away.

“Don’t answer it.” Taylor mumbled as he kissed my neck.

“I have to.”

I got out from underneath Taylor who let out a low growl. I laughed and answered my phone “Hello.”

“Hey Lau.”

I smiled “Bree! How are you doing? What’s up?”

“I’ve been good but it’s been crazy planning the wedding and Brad keeps telling me that our first dance is going to be to Black and Yellow.”

I laughed “Aw Marshy still being Marshy.”

Bree sighed “I know.”

“So why’d you call?”

“Oh I wanted to let you know that my wedding shower has been moved to next week.”

“What!? The wedding shower wasn’t supposed to be until next month.”

“I know but my sister can’t make next month, she has to go away on a business trip to Tokyo.”

I rubbed my forehead “I don’t know if I can make it.”

“What! I can’t have a bridal shower without my maid of honor.”

“But Bree my game schedule for next week is cramped.”

“Well don’t you have any breaks between the games?”

I walked over to my game calendar that was posted on the refrigerator “Um…Friday afternoon we have a game against Ottawa and our next game is on a Monday night.”

“Great! I’ll have the party on Saturday.”

I rubbed my face “Ah… fine I’ll come down right after the game against the Senators.”

“Aw this is so great! I can’t wait until you get to Boston.”

I sighed “Me either.”

“Well I got to go to the Garden and see Brad at tonight’s game.”

“Okay and tell Brad that I wish him and the rest of the guys luck.”

“I will. See ya.”

“Bye.”

I hung up the call and I turned to see Taylor looking down, “What was that about?”

“Nothing, just that Bree had moved her bridal party to next week because her sister couldn’t go next month.”

Taylor nodded “Sooo…you’re going to Boston next week?”

“Yep.”

He sighed and judging by the sigh I could tell he was upset, so I sat next to him and asked “What’s wrong?”

“It’s just that Tyler is your ex and you are probably going to see him.”

“Taylor. I have not seen Tyler for over a year and I don’t think it’ll be hard trying not to see him for three days.”

Taylor placed his arm around my waist “But I don’t trust him. You know that he’s my enemy and the fact that we’re together will make him mad.”

I looked at Taylor “I don’t care about what that idiot thinks. We broke up and I now have a new and far sexier boyfriend.”

Taylor laughed and kissed me “Good.” He paused for a moment “How come you and Tyler broke up?”

I sighed and looked away. I couldn’t tell him the whole reasoning behind my breakup with Tyler, it was too painful of a memory, especially for me, “We just started to not get along with each other after an incident. So instead of arguing all the time we decided to go our own separate ways.”

Taylor nodded “I understand.”

As we sat in silence I said “Hey let’s go out for lunch.”

Taylor smiled “Okay let’s go get some Italian food.”

I laughed and the both of us stood up and left to get some food.
