CHAPTER 10

"She got leukemia."

Greyson terpaku. Ia terdiam tanpa suara. Sungguh, ia masih tak percaya dengan kata-kata yang barusan dikatakan ibunya. Lututnya lemas. Gadis yang selama ini mencintainya itu ternyata mengidap leukemia atau kanker darah.

Bukan hanya Greyson. Alexa dan Colton pun tak kalah kagetnya. Mereka hanya bisa duduk diam dan saling pandang. Sama dengan Greyson, mereka masih belum percaya dengan apa yang dikatakan Lisa.

"No one know this except her parents, her best friends, and me."

"I'm her best friend but why I don't know?"

"You are her life, Greyson. She forced me to don't tell you about this. She didn't want if you love her because you pity of her. She preferred you love her as your sister, as long as it's truthful. She love you so much, Greyson. I won't let her sad. That's why I always forced you to be with her, to make her happy. I'm sorry, my son, but... She need your love. You are her spirit. You're everything to her. Please... Make her happy before she go. Just two months left, Grey," kata Lisa panjang lebar.

"You're kidding me, mom," balas Greyson tak percaya. "Two months left and you just tell me now?"

Greyson terdiam. Pertanyaan-pertanyaannya selama ini terjawab sudah. Rahasia besar itu sudah terkuak, dan itu memecahkan semua masalah-masalah yang Greyson hadapi. Namun sekarang, masalah baru muncul.

Greyson mencintai Sofi. Sangat. Namun ia juga mencintai Meredith. Meredith adalah sahabatnya, sekaligus kakaknya. Tak bisa dipungkiri cinta Greyson kepada Meredith begitu besar. Sekarang apa yang harus ia lakukan? Ia mencintai keduanya, namun ia harus mengutamakan salah satu saat ini. Kebimbangan itu kembali menyelimuti Greyson.

"I know you love Sofi, Grey. And I know you love Merry. Both of them need you. But I believe you know which one need you most," kata Lisa meyakinkan Greyson.

Greyson terdiam. Ia mencoba berpikir jernih. Namun ia tak bisa. Dadanya masih tertohok dalam. Meredith. Dan Sofi. Kedua gadis itu memenuhi otaknya.

"Tell me, mom. Tell me anything about Meredith Victoria Parker that I don't know."

Sofi terdiam. Gadis berambut pirang itu duduk di sofa ruang tamunya. Rautnya terlihat tegang dan serius. Sama sekali tak terlihat gerak-gerik centilnya lagi. Dengan perasaan was-was Sofi duduk di depan gadis itu. Kesamber petir apa dia bisa ke rumah Sofi?

"Hi, Mer."

"Oh, hi, Sofia. Uhm... You must be surprised that I'm here. I... I just wanna say something to you."

"About what?"

"About... Me, Greyson, and everything's unclear."

Sofi terdiam. Membiarkan Meredith untuk berbicara.

"Have Greyson told you?"

"Told me about what?"

"About me."

"You? No. He didn't tell me anything."

"Okay, so... I got leukemia."

Sofi tercekat. Leukemia. Ia terdiam mendengar kata-kata itu. Dimana gadis yang sekarang duduk di depannya mengidap penyakit itu. Sofi sempat berpikir bahwa Meredith berbohong. Namun untuk apa?

"No one know about this. Except my family, my best friends, and mom Lisa."

Sofi masih terdiam. Ia mulai mengerti apa yang dimaksud Meredith.

"That's why. That's why mom Lisa always forced Greyson to be with me and asked him to make me happy, to don't hurt my feeling and everything you heard from Greyson. To be honest, I'm so envy if I see you with him. I'm so afraid that I'll lose him. Cause I can see that he love you so much and he just love me as his sister. At first I can't admit the fact that he love you. Greyson is... Greyson is my life, Sofia. Greyson is my spirit."
