Alpha Russell finally let me off his shoulder when literally every ounce of my blood was in my head. I checked out my surroundings. We were standing in a very large master suite. It had an area for television and two big walk-in closets.
The King Bed was dressed in black silk sheets with great gold bed posts and the walls were painted an ivory tone but had several paintings of black wolves hung on them. A fireplace sat under the flatscreen tv that sat in view of the bed. I noticed that only one closet held clothes.
Two people, I assumed they were my guards, entered the room and stood in wait for command. I assessed the room. There was only one window at the far end...
"Alpha," it was bloody nose.
"Travis, I'm giving you a chance to do better. You'll be with our gamma, Ray, protecting this sweet girl here," Alpha Russell gestured at me and I frowned. He walked to the closet and pulled out a sweater and a pair of his boxer shorts,
"A change of clothes for you," he said.
"I'll just wear these," I protested, pulling at my black clothes.
"Not to bed you won't!" He grinned, "Tell me your name."
"Nah," I said, "I don't think we are close enough for that personal information."
Travis stared at Alpha Russell, bewildered. He sighed, defeated,
"When you're finished in the bathroom, I'll be in my office. It's the next room over."
"Well thanks for telling me," I said, winking. I walked into the bathroom and shut the door behind me. The floor was black marble with a luxurious white rug. I slipped off my boots and my socks to step on the thick fabric. I let it sink between my toes.
The water in the shower came from the sides and ceiling of the shower. I felt as if I was drowning when all the water came down on me. I coughed a little bit. My hair flattened down on my head almost instantly. I hadn't had a shower like this ever in my life... Normally we just had hotel showers.
When I got out, I put on Russell's clothes. They were much too large, so I tied one of my shoe laces tightly around the waist line to keep the boxers from falling to my ankles.
Travis was standing outside the door. When I came out, we met eyes and his nose was still swollen.
"What?" He asked, clearly annoyed by my look.
"Your nose looks nice," I said, smiling.
"Ha ha ha," he rolled his eyes, "I'm supposed to take you to Alpha Russell now."
"Well, do your job then," I said.
He led me out of the bedroom and into a large hallway. I could tell there was a staircase at the end. Several rooms lined the hall, Travis took me into the first room on the left.
Alpha Russell sat behind a large dark wood desk with deep red curtains shut behind it. His gaze was focused on the computer in front of him until I entered the room. He looked up and his gray eyes met mine. The way he looked at me made me blush. The mate bond was freaking me out.
He looked up and nodded at Travis, who left.
"You can sit," he said after the door shut. I decided to be compliant. He closed his laptop and leaned back in the chair,
"You are my mate. You are meant to be the Luna of Eastern River pack and eventually you are going to have to accept this role." I pressed my lips in a line and took a deep breath in,
"This seems great and all, don't get me wrong," I started as he raised an eyebrow at me, "But this isn't me. I'm not ready to settle down and make puppies for the rest of my life."
