The horrid moans and snaps reach my ears, but all I see is the back of my eyelids.

It’s okay, I'll be with dad soon, we can both watch over mom.

Now I’m extremely angry at myself, if I’m going to die now, I should have let my mom kill me.

Then I hear the screech of tires and I open my eyes to see blank ones in front of me, I leap back what feels like ten feet.

Theres a rusty old red truck to my left, someone opens the passenger door.

“GET IN.”

I jump in without second thought. Theres a boy there about my age wearing jeans and a Batman T-shirt with tousled black hair and glasses. He had blue eyes that were puffy and moist. I swear I know him from somewhere.

“Thanks” I breath as he speeds away.

“Don’t mention it.” He smiles “I thought I was the only one till I heard all the noise, looks like you took down quite a lot of zombies.”

“I thought I was alone to...wait did you say zombies?”

“Kind of fits doesn't it? Flesh eating things with extreme rage and blank eyes, what does that sound like to you?”

“I hadn’t thought of that before, zombies.” It did make sense. I should have thought about it before. Then again when you being attacked by monsters your brain doesn’t process well.

“Have we met before?” I feel like I know you.” I ask

At this he frowns, “Therapy, we both had the same therapist for-”

“Frontal Lobe Disorder, right. Your Thomas Helling.” I Finish.

“Hmm.”

“What?” I ask.

“Maybe thats why we didn’t become zombies when the earthquake and the sound happened.”

“Whats why?”

“We both have Damage to our Frontal Lobes of the brain.”

“So?” I Snap.

“So maybe people with damage to their frontal lobes are immune to the zombie...thing.”

“Shockwave.” I correct him.

“What?”

“It was a shockwave that caused the zombies.” It was all coming starting to come together now, how this happened.

“Shockwave....Sounds about right.”  He nods.

I stare at the road ahead. “Where are we going?”

“Olea Hotel, Glen Ellen California, Level 10, room 230.” He said as if he was reciting a formula on a chemistry test.

“What? Glen Ellen? That place is probably swarming with zombies! Why on earth would we go there?” I rage.

“Turn on the radio.”

“Nows not the time to-”

“Turn it on.” He cuts me off.

Reluctantly I turn on the radio. Surprisingly a transmission comes on:

“Hello, My name is Doctor. Gilson, If there is anyones who has not been affected by the sound wave energy tests, please come to Olea Hotel, Glen Ellen California, Level 10, Room 230. I will be Waiting”

After a couple seconds it replays.

“I heard it right before I found you, I figured I should go.” Thomas explains.

"Its in a ZOMBIE INFESTED TOWN! How are we supposed to get there?”

Thomas grins and points out the window, “There’s your answer!”
