Drowning

We went to the ocean an you were there with me
You swam so fast that you are no longer I see

I tried to catch up but you sped like a jet
Are you running away like I was your death?

"Please don't leave, it would be the death of me"
But when I reach out for you—
You just swam past me

I was hurt, torn, played and crushed
The loud sound of the waves couldn't make me hush

Then I realized, I was already drowning.
Not with the sea but the ocean of tears I'm weeping
