Chapter #16

The Grand Opening

Brianna’s POV

The next week and a half was full of us helping Georgi’s parents shop for their Greek restaurant. It was endless shopping at IKEA, painting and all the other stuff to open a business.

“I think we got everything that was on the list.” Georgi says, checking the list and the shopping cart.

“Alright let’s go check out,” Ryan says looking around, “where ever that is.”

“WE'RE GONNA DIE IN HERE!” Rythima says, earning some weird looks from people around us.

“Relax. We're not going to die. We just got lost.... again.” Justin sighs.

“Nice. We’ve been here how many times this week and we still get lost every time.” Chaz says.

“Stupid Ikea is so confusing.” I say.

“They should have maps for this place.” Isabel adds.

We start following the arrows that are painted on the cement floors. As soon as we think we’re close to the cash registers we hit a dead end.

“I hate this place.” Amanda mutters and I turn around following everyone to our next lost path.

15 minutes and many wrong turns later we finally get to check out area.

“YAY!” Rythima exclaims and runs out the door dragging Isabel with her.

“If we come here again I say we don't bring Rythima.” Christian states and puts the items on to the conveyor belt.

We pay for the items and go outside where Isabel and Rythima were waiting next to the car.

“I don't like this place.” Rythima says quietly.

“Really I couldn't tell.” I say sarcastically.

“I think the whole store knows that by now.” Georgi replies.

Justin puts the bags in the trunk and we jump into the car.

Ryan puts they key in the ignition as we all buckle our seat belts and he drives out of the parking lot.

“Why does Ryan get to drive?” Chaz whines.

“Cuz he never a hit a mailbox.” Christian replies.

“And I've never run over a squirrel.” Ryan adds looking at Chaz through the rear view mirror.

Amanda’s POV

Ryan steered the car into a parking spot in the soon-to-be Greek restaurant’s parking lot.

The building isn’t huge but not tiny either. It's nestled between a small market place and a candy store.

Georgi grabbed the shopping bags and we go inside through the back door.

Alexia is sitting at one of the tables with iPod headphones in her ears. A look of concentration on her face as she colors with her 64 pack of Crayola crayons.

She looks up and smiles. “Hi! Mommy is in the kitchen putting away the new dishes.”

“Okey dokey.” Georgi replies and puts the bags on a chair.

“What are you drawing Alexia?” I ask.

“Taylor Swift. See she's singing on stage and people are cheering.” Alexia points out the people in the picture.
