Chapter 2

Confused & Alone

I opened my eyes slowly, feeling empty and starving. I also wanted to shower but then I looked around, "What the..." I tailed off before saying a bit louder, "Where am I?" Somebody that had a name tag on and other things making them look like a doctor or nurse.

"Who are you?" I squint my eyes. "I'm Natalie.. Some guy called us and said someone was shot and on the floor. There was a blood pool that wasn't your's and then yours. You are now in New York's hospital."

I shook my head and lifted my arms. I quickly dropped one with a gasp. "Ouch.." She looked at me, "You do know that you were shot in the ARM, right?" I nodded. I pressed a button on the side of the bed I was on with my good hand, allowing me to sit up.

"My parents and my sister, Lilac?" I asked sternly. She frowned, "Lilac... She is fine.. I told her to go to the waiting room until you woke. She didn't want to leave you, You know." She started.

"My parents.." I asked again. She was speechless, I widened my eyes, "Are they okay....." I asked in shock but I knew the answer. "Can I see my sister?" I asked.

She started to go but then stopped and turned, "Your father could live, but he lost a lot of Blood and has not woken up yet.. Your mom though... She was shot in the frontal bone(forehead)." I leaned my head back and took a deep breath. I heard the door close as I closed my eyes.

"Lily?" I heard Lilac's voice and opened my eyes. "Lilac!" I said as I saw her. I hugged her, my good arm around her. "How long was I out?" I asked.

"About 2 days... They were about to unplug you." she said with a somber face."I'm fine now.." I said, Then felt something lurch inside me. I squeezed my eyes shut and tensed, chattering my teeth.

Then relaxed, shaking. "Could I just, rest got a bit?" she nodded and left. Instead of sleeping, I waited for a nurse to get a bone & Trama book to see if I could figure out anything.
