The Inspiration

I was reading a book about bones. I looked at shoulders again after reading the whole thing through the night. I rested my chin on my hand.

I woke up when a 'bang' sounded, alarmed. Then I realized I had dozed off. My chin must've fell off My hand. My head was against the table, So that's my guess.

Then I tensed as screams sounded. I got up and ran for the hall. Any cord or attachment to me came off.

There was fire, everywhere, I started to panic. The fire surrounded me, I backed into my room. I inhaled smoke and broke out coughing. The fire backed into the room and I stood on my bed.

Then something picked me up from behind, I screamed. Then I saw a face, and looked to my shoulder. "Is it You?" I muttered as I recognized his figure. He did not speak and looked around.

Then he ran towards the window with me in his arms.

I heard the glass break and then I blacked out of multiple reasons.
Brian: I barely had control of myself, but I didn't let go of the girl in my hands. After jumping out the window, we landed in a pond and she fell from my grip.

I dove into the water and grabbed her, pulling her to the surface. I kept trying to wake her, no response. Her shoulder started bleeding, there was smoke in her lungs, and She was soaking wet. I tried to remember her name, it was... Lily. I pulled out my phone and shakily pressed the 'call' button.

"Jake it's bad... I'll be there in about 5 minutes.." I said to my friend, a scientist, before hanging up. I took off My jacket and held it on her wound before picking Lily up with my other hand. Then, I started for the house where Jake and I lived.
