Don't Let Go
I couldn't sleep, even with a wink of undisturbed sleep would be helpful. All I could think about was Lilac, My little sister. I decided that trying to sleep was a waste of time and got up. I opened a door that led to a workout room.
I searched for the one-half weights and eventually found them on a shelf. I picked up a 5 pounder and grabbed it with my bad arm. I started to move it back and fourth, up and down, stretching my arm. I did it slowly, though, that way it didn't hurt as bad.
I heard the door behind me open and footsteps toward me. "Do you normally get up this early?" I asked, turning around. Brian jumped, apparently not knowing I heard him.
"No, but I heard you come in. Normally nobody gets up at this time unless somethings up. what's wrong?" I took a breath, "The burning hospital you saved me from."
"What about that?" he asked, worry covering his face.I bit my lip, then opened my mouth. "My dad was in the hospital, he hadn't even woke yet. But so was my perfectly fine sister, Lilac." He just looked at me for a moment, then walked out of the room. I followed with a deep breath.
He grabbed his coat before tossing me one. "Where we going?" I asked. "The hospital, Lily. We are finding your sister, dead or alive."
