Chapter 1

Chapter 1

It was 6:30 when Lily awoke to the sound of her buzzing alarm clock. Only ten more days until she finishes her second year of high school- she does have a crush on this one guy, Jake, but he never seemed like "her type."

He's a football star, and she's just a shy girl. It only took her fifteen minutes to get ready before she was out the door. She locked her apartment, then off she went. When Lily got to her locker, she noticed there was a note taped to it. She took the little slip of purple paper and opened it up to see that it read, "Meet me in the gym at 6:00. From, ❤"

Lily felt confused after reading that. "Who would ever want to meet me?" She thought to herself while unlocking her locker. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Jake walking down the hall with the rest of his football playing friends and their slut-bag cheerleader girlfriends.

Lily made eye contact with him for a moment, but turned around and hastily shoved her bag into her locker, then grabbed her books, and rushed off to class.

~Jake's POV~

As I walked into the hallway, my eyes immediately fell on Lily. I appraised her long chocolate brown hair, her eyes, blue as the sky, and her soft pink lips. I'm falling so hard for this girl. A smile spread across her lips as she read the note I put on her locker, and she turned her head slightly to look at me.

We made eye contact, and I took the chance to smile and wave a little bit- but she turned around quickly, shoving her bag into her locker, then rushed off down the hall. In the moment our eyes met, I swear, I wanted to hold her in my arms so badly.

Time seemed to pass quicker than usual, maybe because I was thinking about Lily so much, and before I knew it, school was over with. I rushed first to my locker, then to the gym as soon as the bell rang. I talked to coach, he's letting me use it so Lily and I can have some privacy. I wanted it to be special, so I shut off all of the lights and waited for my love to come walking through those doors.

The last bell finally rang, and I went to my locker to get my book bag. I wasn't sure if I should go to the gym or not, but I had the gut feeling that I should go. As I walked down the hall, I felt the deflating disappointment in not seeing Jake anywhere.

But then again, he's probably with his pretty cheerleader girlfriend. But he did smile and wave at me this morning, that must have meant something, and he hasn't really been hanging around his girlfriend that much lately. I wanted to have him so bad it almost hurt- geez louise. I have absolutely no business poking my nose in where it doesn't belong.

I finally got to the gym, and immediately, the lights turned on. I looked around a little bit, blinking against the sudden light- and my jaw dropped when I saw Jake.
