chapter 2

~Jake's POV~

After flipping the light on, I saw the most beautiful look on her face. It was a mix between confusion and adoration- she was still beautiful. We walked towards each other, and she said,

"So you're the one who stuck the cute notes on my locker." She said that with the most adorable giggle I'd ever heard in my life. I just smiled at her.

"Yeah, I am. I've been waiting to tell you this for a while.....Lily, I've fallen for you- hard. From the moment you walked into this school, you took my breath away with your beautiful blue eyes and long brown hair- you looking like an angel sent from above. I know I'm not smart like you, but will you do me the indescribable honor of being mine?"

~Lily's POV~

Cute note? That's all I could come up with?! I must have sounded like a complete imbucile. I felt like grimacing, but the sexy smile Jake gave me convinced me otherwise.

Instead I felt like crying, crying like there was no tomorrow. I felt the hot tears begin to stream down my cheeks, and jaked wiped them away. I looked up at his eyes, then said,

"Of course I'll be yours." The next thing I knew, I was picked up in his strong arms and twirled around. When he set me down again, he hugged me. He was so warm and buff and gentle, I could just melt right on the spot- but the bliss didn't last very long.

~Jake's POV~

After saying yes, I couldn't help but pick Lily up and whirl her around in my arms. After setting her down she hugged me. The most amazing girl in the world is finally mine! I asked if I could take her home, and it suddenly got very quiet.

"What's wrong Lily?" She looked up at me with sadness shining in her eyes, and she said in a broken voice,

"I should probably tell you that my parents died five years ago in a car crash, I've been living by myself in an apartment since."

I just looked at her. Five years, five years she's been living by herself.

"Well, I can stay with you."

"You'd do that?" She looked at me with surprise replacing the sadness.

I gently lifted her chin with two fingers, then said,

"I would love to, it's no bother."

~Lily's POV~

I still couldn't believe that Jake was going to stay the night with me. After shutting off the lights in the gym, he and I made our way to his house- I even met his parents.

His Mom was so sweet and welcoming, his father the same- they welcomed me like one of their own. Poor Jake, though. He seemed so embarrassed about his parents- but I thought they were really nice.

As we walked back to my place, we talked about his family as well as mine- I held myself together as best as I could while I talked about my parents, and when it looked like I was going to cry, Jake would squeeze my hand and let me know it was okay.

We arrived at my apartment, and when we walked in, Jake looked amazed- sort of.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing, it's just so nice in here." I glanced at him with a smirk on my face, and when he looked over at me, he blushed.

"It's not like I was expecting it to be." He ammended. I just laughed and took his bag, then walked into my bedroom.

While I was unpacking, I felt his strong arms secure themselves around my waist, hugging me from behind.

We swayed back and forth for a few minutes- to me it felt like forever- until finally; Jake leaned down and kissed me.

It so full of love and passion, it was the sort of kiss you could feel to your toes- and boy were my toes feeling it. I'm so glad he's mine now- and I won't be sharing.
