Chapter 3: Excuse Me?

RECAP:

“Fine I’ll go get you some clothes to change into.” He sighed then walked in the house. He came back out with two of his t-shirts and a pair of sweatpants for Tinsley and i. we thanked him then walked into his house quickly changing into his clothes that were humongous on us. We walked out and got into his car. He was waiting in the drivers seat for us. When Tinsley and I were in the car he sped out of his driveway and down the street towards Tinsley’s house.

After Leo took uso get a coffee form Starbucks he dropped me off at Tinsley’s house so I could get my car and drive home. When we got to Tinsley’s house I left right away. When I got home I walked towards our apartment door and unlocked it. I threw my key back in my bag then threw my bag on the ground when I got inside.

“Mum! Dad!” I called out. I walked into the kitchen to find it empty. When I walked into the living room I saw my parents, Mark, Lexie, and Logan. What the actual fuck is going on?!

“Hey.” I said awkwardly waving my hand at them.  Mark smiled and then continued to converse with my father.

Lexie turned away from my mother and looked at me “Hi Darcy!” she said then turned back to my mother.

“Darcy who’s jogger bottoms and shirt are you wearing?” my father questioned with his eyebrows raised.

“Leo’s, Tinsley sprayed me with the hose.” I explained, he nodded in understanding. I walked over to Logan and sat infront of him.

“So..” I trailed off.

“I saw you today.” He said. I nodded and pursed my lips.

“Awkward..” I mumbled.

“So Darcy, How’s school? Your mom tells me your on the track and field team and the softball team?” Lexie said turning to me.

“Uh yeah its pretty good. The softball team just got to the championships. The game is in two weekends.” I said.

“Well maybe we’ll go watch that game.”

Logan’s POV

I excused myself to go to the bathroom and locked the door. I started pacing in the small bathroom.

What is going on with me? Why did I feel that spark when Darcy’s hand brushed mine? Why do I never want her to stop talking? What id going on with me?

I stopped pacing and splashed some water on my face. There was a small knock at the door.

“Logan sweetheart are you doing ok?” my moms voice said form the other side of he closed door.

“Yeah im good. Just washing my hands.” I said then pulled open the door. I smiled at her and we walked back to everyone else. We all started up a conversation again until Lennie, Darcy’s moms phone started ringing. She excused herself and walked into the other room. We started the conversation up again.

Darcy’s mom came back in with tears in her eyes.

“What’s wrong Mum?” Darcy asked immediately rushing over to her mom to see what was wrong.

“That was an old friend apparently shes very sick and in the hospital and they want us to come out.”  Her mother said.

“Well who is it?” my mother asked.

“Mia.” My mother burst into tears. Darcy and I just stood there as our parents comforted each other.

“We’ll leave you guys alone.” Darcy said pulling me out of the room. We walked into the kitchen. We made ice cream sundaes and talked for a little while. Our parents came in with tear stained cheeks and red bloodshot eyes.

“Look kids, we’re all going to go to visit our friend. But you aren’t going to come with us. Darcy I just called your uncles. Teddy and maybe Max and Tayah are going to stay with you while we’re away.” Lennie said.

“And Logan, Youre going to stay with Darcy and her uncles while we’re away. We’re leaving tomorrow night. You can pack up all your stuff and tomorrow after school drive here instead of home. We don’t know how long we’re going to be gone. Mia was a very close friend of ours in high school.” My father said. Wait what?! I’m staying with Darcy?!

“Look not to be disrespectful or rude but why am I staying with Darcy and her uncles?” I asked.

“Logan I grew up with her uncles. They were like my own brothers. I spent more time at Lennie’s house than at my own. I want you to be safe while im gone and I know youll be safe with them. Max is a SWAT agent and Teddy is a very good guy. Ok?” my mother said inbetween sniffles. I nodded not wanting to argue with her when she was sad.

We left about an hour later, after everything was arranged. I had texted Hunter about me staying with Darcy. He texted back moments later saying, ‘Nice! Might have to hang out at your new home more! Sorry about your parents friend though :/’

Once we got home I started packing a bag with clothes and everything I would need like my laptop and phone charger and a few textbooks.
