Michael stayed at mine for the rest of the week. We went school together and came home together, people during lessons would talk about how much Michael is a bad person and that I should stay away from him, but I know better than to listen to them and if he was as bad as everyone says he is, then I guess I will find out sooner or later, but I know that Michael is nothing like how they all portray him to be.

Michael had a small job now, he worked at a tattoo parlour down the street,  he is enjoying it there and getting a decent pay, he is saving up most of the money that he is earning in order to get his own place and to live independently. Michael is also insisting on helping pay for food and and costs for rent, electricity, gas ect, although I did tell him there was no need for him to do so and it was fine if he didn't.

It was Saturday and neither of us had work, I asked if we could venture around the town as I wasn't able to do so when I first moved in, a week ago. Michael wanted to go somewhere in particular so I allowed him to drive us, this was instead of him giving me directions from the passenger seat. We got into the car when my music went blaring, full blast, my cheeks flushed in embarrassment and I turned down the music straight away. "Asking Alexandria hey!" Michael said excitedly and turned the music back up.

We laughed and sung along to the songs all the way to a small 'typical 1950's American diner.' I looked over to Michael before getting out of the car, he was staring towards the diner happily, he reminded me almost like a child at its first sweet shop. We got out the car a little while after parking the car, we walked towards the entrance of the diner, the outside was hot pink and black striped, almost cartoon like. There was a half working 'open' sign dangling from the inside of the door, looking almost like it will fall off if knocked into.
Opening the glass door, we felt the cool air conditioning hit our faces, instantly sending shivers down our spines. We took a seat in a booth right at the back and began to order, there wasn't many people so we were able to chat without having to shout our words.
"I'll have a double chocolate milkshake please" Michael smiled, he was extremely happy to be at this place and he looked around constantly at his surroundings, he looked as though he was taking in everything that there is to see, much like he will never see this place ever again.
"Urm- I'll have a vanilla milkshake please" I asked, the waitress wrote down our orders quickly on her little note pad, she then looked over to Michael,
"haven't seen you here in a while doll- face" the woman smiled towards Michael,
"Oh, urm yeh.. Haven't really had the chance to be honest Lesley" he replied sadly,
"Well great to see you again Mike-" she began before turning to me. "Well is this your girlfriend, she's a beauty, lucky boy" she finished. Before Michael  got to correct her, she turned around quickly and went to get our orders.
Michael and I laughed at what she said, we were almost in tears with laughter until the woman came back with our orders. We slurped on our milkshakes when Michael began talking about the diner and why it means so much to him.
"I used to come here here with my family before, you know, they fucked off." He started, he didn't make eye contact, only fiddled around with the straw and attempting to scrape the rest of the milkshake off of the sides of the tall glass.
"We used to come here every week and order this same milkshake each time. Those were the best times of my life..." He smiled weakly at that sentence.
"I used to come here every week, even after they were gone. I used to sit here for hours, I would hope, prey and beg that they would just walk through those doors and tell me that they would never leave me and how they were truly sorry about abandoning me and leaving me to fend for myself." He was now looking me dead in the eyes, his voice broke more and more after every word, I could see the tears building up in his eyes, his under eyes became puffy and his face became bright red due to him holding back his tears.
I went over and sat next to him, he was staring back at the milkshake and I could see a tear roll down his cheek and onto the table. I grabbed his hand gently, he looked over to me as I brought him into a tight hug. He deserved a hug and a person to be there for him when he felt like this. He had it rough and being there for him and not allowing people get in my head, I know myself, meant the world to him.

We went home and decided to order in some food and call it a night. The food didn't take long to get here and when it did, we ate it in near silence. I know he needed to think and I was there for him if he wanted a hug or someone to listen to him.
I got into bed straight after I tidied the kitchen, Michael walked into the bedroom and asked if he could sleep in with me tonight, I nodded my head as he slowly made his way into bed next to me. He brought his arm around me and  hugged me sweetly, I put my head into his neck as I allowed the tiredness over come me and I fell asleep quickly in Michaels arms.
