I rolled over and turned off the annoying sound called an alarm. I looked out the window and saw the rain coming down. It had this strange calming effect which I always loved about rain. I sat in my bed for a few minutes. The jetlag wasn't doing a whole lot but then again I used to travel a lot. My stomach grumbled so I decided to get up and look for some food. I found some cereal and we had just bought milk so I was set. I made my bowl and ate it in company of the tv in the living room. I put away my dishes and went to wake up Lily.

“Get upppppppppp.” I shook her in hope she would wake up. I got a groan in response.

“Come on, we need to go shopping for college stuff. You have 20 minutes to get ready Lily.” and with that I walked out of her room.

I got ready in my room. I threw on a light grey jacket over my blue shirt. I brushed through my black hair and sprayed some hairspray in it to make it hold the straight form it had. I put on my usual makeup which gave my tanned face some more color. I put on midnight black eyeliner, giving my piercing blue eyes a more defined look. I put on my Vans and walked into Lily’s room.

She was standing there in black skinny jeans and a floral shirt with a grey cover up. Her brown hair had been straightened and pushed to the side, we really had to re-dye her hair with the red tips. She looked pretty and ready to face the day, something that was rare for her.

As Lily finished her breakfast, I got up to get our purses. Lily stumbled to get her shoes on but finally succeeded. Keys in hand, we both walked out to the car. Out of the corner of my eye I saw something really strange. It was the girls from last night’s encounter. You know, the ones that looked freakishly similar to me? They lived three houses down and they ran to the car and looked around a lot. Almost like they were hiding from someone. A little strange, huh? I didn't really think anything by it, I learned not to judge by what stranger do. Even if they are our neighbors. I got into my car, where Lily was already waiting for me, and started the engine. I knew she had seen the girls too, her face was pale but she knew better than to bring it up. If you hadn’t put two and two together yet, I’m adopted. I got this news back when I was 10, that very same day I made the plan to vanish when I was legal and well here I am. Ok yeah, those girls looked very very very similar to me but the chances of me being their sister is very little to none. I brushed off the thought as I pulled up to a store for Lily’s college stuff. I can't afford any distractions at the moment. I need to focus on me and my future.

“Welcome to College and etc. Can I help you find anything?” an extremely preppy salesclerk asked.

“Umm yeah, I’m attending the college here for fashion in the fall and I have no idea what I needed but I do have a list.” Lily rambled on.

“Oh easy, we have a whole fashion part of the store and looking at this you need the area over here.” the lady had pointed out to us. She gave back Lily her list and walked off to be preppy to someone else.

“Ok, so I need-” Lily started to say but stopped herself as she pilled things into the cart. I zoned out as she continued to think out loud.  I couldn’t stop thinking about the girls that we bumped into and now they lived in the same neighborhood. This seriously couldn’t get weirder.

 “Ready Amber??” Lily asked

“Yeah sorry just thinking.” I told her as I pulled on a fake smile.

“That’ll be 150” the clerk said as she rang us up.

“You got that all hun?” I gave Lily a questioning look.

“Yeah yeah shut it.” Lily shot me this face of hers.

We piled everything into the car. Lily had bought everything and a little extra just in case. It was nearing two in the afternoon and jetlag had been setting in just a bit. I was now exhausted. It was still raining and it was coming down a lot more than before. I guess I have to get used to that. I love the rain so much and I hope this doesn't change anything. I parked my car in the garage and helped Lily carry in all of her stuff. I set it down in her room and went into my room. I opened up my laptop and searched up the dance studio I had in mind. I wanted to be a dance teacher for the time being or even some type of studio assistant. As long as I got to do what I loved, I wouldn't have a problem with it. There was a studio literally 7 minutes up the road from our house. I decided to call them up and see if they were hiring.

“Hello, this is Artista dance studio how may I assist your call?” a friendly voice rang

“Hi, this is Amber, I just moved here and I’m a dancer and I was wondering if you are hiring teachers, I’m not certified but I’ve been doing this all my life. I enjoy it very much and I’ve taken all the RAD exams possible. I would love love love to work at your studio.” I finished up

“Well lucky for you, we are hiring and you fit the bill perfectly. I’d love to meet you, could you come down tomorrow and dance?” she questioned me, I nearly screamed into the phone.

“Of course I can come tomorrow. What time should I come?” I quickly pushed out.

“Anytime in the morning is fine” I said thank you and hung up.

I started screaming and running around like crazy around the house. Lily thought I was crazy but oh well, nothing new there. I told her about the interview and she was extremely happy for me and wished me luck. I started to prepare myself for tomorrow with all my dance leotards and various costumes. Lily was now in the kitchen making dinner for us. She had made this amazing chicken and noodle thing. I swear if this fashion thing doesn’t work out she could be a chef.

Lily told me she was going to the café tomorrow and seeing if they were up for hire. I put away my dishes and went to my room. I was so proud of us. Considering we're only 18, we really are focused and we want this new start more than anything. I'm so beyond determined to make this all happen. I was a bit nervous for tomorrow but it’s nothing I can’t handle. I went for a shower and waited for the water to heat up. I washed my coconut smelling shampoo into my hair and washed my body. I got out of the shower and changed into my sweats. I walked into my room and got into my bed. I felt ten times better now. I lay in my bed and wondered about the future. I hope I get hired, it’d be a job I truly loved. My mind wandered various choreographies and I drifted into my sleep.
