It was a month after Kaneki left to join the Aoigiri. And a month after my encounter with Ayato. After that day, I swore to myself it was a hallucination. Ayato is not a sweet guy, who would hold my hair as I cry and kiss my forehead as if it was nothing and leave.
Ayato is a cold guy. He could careless about me... Right?
Anyways, that was a month ago. So who cares?
Today. Today I was working my shift at Anteiku with Irimi-san and Yoshimura-san.
Touka and Hinami left a hour ago with Yomo. I don't know where but nontheless I hope they are safe.
"Hey, Yoshimura-san. Have you ever wondered if you were to adopt me?" Me and Yoshimura-san were very close. He once found me eating a ghoul and took me in, saying I was like him.
He gave me enough money for a apartment and he also offered me to work here but I didn't accept.
I didn't want to help people, even after they helped me. I didn't want to be selfless and weak. I wanted to be rough with people and show them I'm not one to take advantage of.
But he took me in... And he changed me.
"You're already my step-daughter." He smiled softly at me.
We both lost our families. We have alot in common. And that was a good thing. I couldn't find anyone that has anything in common with me...
Well except for a person. And he's a ghoul investigator. His name is Juuzou Suzuya. We both were kind of friends. But we had alot in common.
We are childish, insane and love killing ghouls.
We're almost the same person.
If you're thinking that I like him, then you're very wrong.. I just think of him as a close friend.
A ghoul with a ghoul investigator? Would never happen.
But. He doesn't know I'm a ghoul. So everything's good.
I smiled back, giggling.
Suddenly, Anteiku's doorbell rung and two doves came in.
One I recognized as Juuzou. And the other I don't know who he is.
"Welcome to Anteiku!" I guided them to a table and 3 seats. "My name is Melani. Feel free to shout my name if you need anything."
Once again, I smiled.
"Oh! Melani-san!" Juuzou grinned acknowledged. "Remember me?"
I nodded, "Of course Juuzou. We played Cat and Dog once, it was cool!"
"So, what are your orders?" I took out my small notepad and a pen.
I started writing their orders which consisted of two coffees' and three sandwiches.
"Mhm! Will come in a minute."
"May I also talk to your manager please?" The guy I now know as Shinohara-san asked.
I nodded curtly.
I left and glanced at Yoshimura-san."Yoshimura-san, the doves want to speak to you." I informed and gave Irimi-san the orders.
"Why are they here? I feel bad..." I washed my hands and wiped them on the apron.
"It's nothing... Probably. But if it makes you feel better, I have a bad feeling too." She replied.
"How is that supposed to make me feel better?" I laughed.
"I don't know," she giggled.
Just then, I saw Yoshimura-san tense.
"I'll be back." I walked towards him and the two doves. "Yoshimura-san, is there a problem?"
I took a glance at both of them, but mine lingering on Shinohara-san more.
"No, it's okay." He smiled at me which I returned happily.
"Okay."
