I Smell Summer

Chapter 2

I was standing at the bus depo waiting for the bus. I had my billabong bag on my shoulders and my pink suitcase next to me.

"You can go home now mum-if you want. The bus will be here soon so ill be fine." I assured her

"Okay babe." Mum said giving me a tight hug "im gonna miss you" she said squeezing me tight 

"Me too mum."

"I mailed all of your presents to nana joy so you should have them by christmas" mum said

"Thankyou mum you the best! I turned to face Claire who was playing on her iPod  

"Claire can i have a hug?" 

She walked up to me and jumped on top of me. After a stood back up i gave her a NORMAL hug. I put my face in her long blonde hair. Just like mine.

I pulled her away and looked into her blue eyes. That's the only different thing we have. We have the same hair, the same skin and we look pretty similar but i have piercing green eyes, and she has grey blue ones.

"By Kylie, take care!" Mum yelled from across the street

"I will" i replied 

Mum nodded as her and Claire drove back home.

"Bus from Sydney to Yamba is arriving. Please have your ticket out and ready for boarding" the intercom announced

I watched as the coach pulled up. The bus driver got out and went to under the bus and opened it. He started putting bags in and a bus depo worker stood at the door to stamp tickets. I gave the driver my suitcase and took my backpack on board. The lady stamped my ticket and i chose a seat at the front. That would guarantee that no one sat next to me.

As everyone settled in their seats, i put my music in and relaxed. The bus driver started the bus and off we went.

We finally have arrived. We left at 8 and now around 10 hours later we get to Yamba at 5:30. The bus drops you off in the centre of town. Which is one street with cafe's, surf shops and a target. And since my nana joy cant drive i have to walk for 10 minutes to get to her place. I decide i want a sausage roll since its almost dinner. I wheel my suitcase into the bakery and examine how much a sausage roll is.

"Hey can I help you" the guy asked. Wow he is good looking. Proper surfer dude. He has his bakery uniform on, a SnapBack and his brown hair sticking out. He could almost leave you speechless.

"A sausage roll thanks" i asked politely.

"You new here?" He asked while getting a bag for my sausage roll.

"Na I've been here before, just visiting my Nana this holidays"

"Oh yeah, how long for?" He asked while handing me my sausage roll.

"The whole holidays. And i may even be moving here" i said.

"Oh yeah cool. Do you know pippi beach?" He asked raising an eyebrow

"Yeah my Nana's house is near there."

"Cool well, me and some people from school are having a bonfire at bout 10, so you should join" he asked smiling

"Yeah sure would love to" i said smiling. I payed for my sausage roll and said goodbye. As i was leaving he called back after me.

"What's your name? Im Matty "

"Hi Matty, im Kylie"

"Kay later Kylie" he said

About 10 minutes later i arrived at my Nana Joys. She looks so much healthier than when i last saw her. She has snow white hair cut in a bob, she is about 5 foot tall, being a tiny bit smaller than me. She wears dangly earrings and her house is so cool, she is an artist so she likes colour a lot!
