When my brothers got here everything seemed perfect. Until JaQuan walked in and that's when I felt the need to throw up. But when Dj got off work and came over everything was just amazing. Everybody clicked off gate. Domo and Shay were flirting, Rocky was caking on the phone with some shorty, Mack was high as hell like always, and I guess Quan went outside.
"Baby what time you go to work tonight?" Dj asked rolling a blunt.
"I go in at 10. What you gone do with Trey?" I asked him.
"Keep him here with me."
"Where you work at man?" Rocky asked blowing out a cloud of smoke.
"This nursing home."
"Why you working with the old people?" Mack asked.
"Because a nigga got bills to pay."
"Bae can you go get Trey other bag out the car I picked up from my mom?" Dj asked lighting the blunt. He handed me the keys.
I went downstairs and out in the parking lot to his Red Camaro. I grabbed the bag out of the back seat and locked the car back up.
"Aye J." I heard someone call my name. I turned to see it was JaQuan. I kept walking.
"J wait up man." He said stopping me by my arm.
"What JaQuan?" I asked crossing my arms irritated.
"Dang ma. I just want to say congrats on everything you doing for yourself." He said stepping back.
"Cut the crap JaQuan. What do you really want?" I asked more irritated than before.
"Man why it always got to be that I want something? I can't just congratulate you?" He spat.
"Nope so spit it out."
"Look I just want to apologize.---" I cut him off.
"Man I don't--"
"Just hear me out. I'm sorry I hurt you. I'm sorry I lied to you and tried to cover it up instead of keeping it a buck with you. I'm sorry I ran you away when all you did was try to love me. I'm sorry for everything. The nights I stayed out slanging. Nights I didn't come home. Nights I ignored your phone calls when you were the only one there for me. Checking on me constantly. Every other girl always wanted something from me. But not you. All you ever asked me for was honesty and loyalty and I didn't give you neither. All you ever did was love me. You showed me what true love was. You taught me how to love. I just wish I could go back to that night. I would've just went to Domo house like I was supposed to. I would've came home and layed with you. I'm sorry I couldn't be the man you wanted." He said he was tearing up a little but he tried to turn his face so I couldn't see.
"Apologies mean nothing to me. You hurt me so bad JaQuan. I spent countless nights trying to figure out what I did that was wrong. What did I do to make you cheat on me. Why wasn't I enough for you? Why couldn't you love me like I loved you. All of this could've been avoided. I'm out here in this city where I have no one. At least in Atlanta I had my family. I had you. Now I'm out here with a family of my own. A boyfriend who's great to me. A stepson who looks at me as his own mother. My own house and car. I'm working. I'm doing great. So maybe we weren't meant to be because if you wouldn't have messed up I'd still be in Atlanta, living off of you or Dominique. If we wouldn't have broken up, I would've never been working at Red Lobster were I met Dj. My life would've never turned for the better. So I don't hate you. I forgive you. I genuinely wish you the best of what life has to offer." Was the last words I spoke. He gave me a hug. It was a goodbye hug. It was comforting. He gave me a kiss on the forehead then went back to the car.
I went back upstairs and everybody was starring at me.
"About time you came back up. Thought I was gonna have to send out a search party." Domo said closing the door behind me.
"Didn't think you'd notice. You so deep down Shay throat you just forgot about me." I said tossing Dj back his keys.
"Don't put me in this." Shay said getting up.
"Where you going?" Domo asked her.
"To my car. Got to get ready for work." She said grabbing her keys from the counter.
"I'll see you at work Charmaine." I said to Shay calling her by her real name.
"Ight shorty. Text me." She said then turned to Dominique.
"I got you ma." He said then she left.
I went into my room and saw a sleeping Trey. He looked so peaceful. I saw the shopping bags at the foot of the bed. I forgot about Domo's present. I took it to him.
"What is it?" He asked suspiciously.
"Just open the bag retard." I told him. He shot me a glare that said "remember that" and I just looked away. He opened it up.
"Is this the one we was talking about on the phone last week?" He pulled out the navy blue Polo Ralph Lauren hoodie with a yellow Polo sign.
"Yep. How you said you wanted it but didn't want to drive 3 hours to go get it." I said enjoying the smile on his face.
"My nigga. Thanks sis. I love it." He said and gave me a hug.
"It's no problem." I hugged him back.
"Now where is mine?" Mack asked.
"Shut up stupid." Everyone laughed at the fake hurt expression on his face.
We had a good time. It was around 8 when they left. Nini came to get Trey shortly after.
I got in the shower for about 20 minutes. When I got out I dried my body off and put on some cocoa butter lotion. I then put on a black wire bra and pantie set. I put on some tight fitted jeans that showed all of my curves. Then I put on a black shirt and my black North Face pullover. I put on my black converses and blow dryed my hair.
"Bae I'm going to work." I called out to him. He was in the living room playing Madden on the Xbox.
"Bae I know you hear me talking to you." I said coming out of my room.
"Darrius!" I yelled to him.
"What man?" He saw answered.
"I'm going to work." I told him leaning over him.
"Okay bae now move before I mess up." He pushed me out the way.
"You ain't shit." I threw a pillow at him and grabbed my keys.
"Take that ass to work before I put something on you." He said grabbing my ass as I walked back passed the chair.
"Baby you don't want it. Give me kiss." He kissed me and I locked up the house when I left out.
I hope this night goes by fast cause I'm ready to go back to my baby.
