Part 8: Reading is Dumb

We all know people who've said that. They say reading or writing is dumb, useless, and/or a waste of time. Well, I say they're wasting oxygen.

Writing is an expression of art. For those of us who cannot draw, sing, or dance- writing is our lifeline. Had a bad day? Write about it. You have an idea for something life changing? Write it down so you don't forget any of the details. Simply because you may not enjoy writing does not make it dumb, useless, and/or a waste of time. No one is forcing you to do it. The same goes for reading.

Reading is like entering another universe. A universe where anything is possible and you can escape reality, even if only for a little while. Reading connects you with other human beings and brings you the though of "Wow. Someone else had these ideas I've thought about and actually put them into words for me. I'm not the only one who thinks this way." Reading is special; it's a direct path from an author to a reader.

So go ahead, call our books dumb, useless, and/or a waste of time. I dare you. We'll just hit you with them. No one wants to hear you're whining about not liking what we're doing. Go live your own life with what you like to do.
