It was very bright inside a lava-filled cave. Jesse backed up, feeling very scared of what the man sitting in front of her might do to her. She could barely speak since there was so much fear flowing through her blood. A bunch of thoughts raced through her mind as she wondered what to do. Jesse didn't know how to escape, and if she did, she would be homeless, even though she was only three years old.
Picking up her courage a bit, Jesse finally got the strength to speak. "Daddy, you can't do this!" She shouted. The man gave the small girl an evil grin. "Yes I can," he whispered loudly as his voice got louder with every word. "Because soon I will rule Minecraft. I will take control of every last player and block! I will give this world a major change! A good one! But with you, an annoying little three-year-old who doesn't know anything, all you're going to do is get in my way!" "But how am I going to make things bad? I'm your only child!" Jesse blurted out.
"I don't care," The man growled. "I never wanted a child. The only reason I kept you is because your mother died and asked me to take care of you! But now, I'm going to admit the truth to you. I hate you!" Jesse stepped back in shock from her fathers words. Angry, scared and sad, she put on a black hoodie which was way too big on her. "Where are you going, Jesse?" The man asked. Jesse didn't answer, but instead dashed out of the castle in which her father lived in.
It had been almost half a year since Jesse ran away from home, and it was raining hard at night. She sat under a tree, not caring about the rain dripping from the leaves onto her head. She started to think of the words her father said to her. They repeated in her head like church bells.
Suddenly Jesse saw a small blue fox girl, who looked about her age, walking up to her. She had a yellow raincoat and a pink shirt, with small purple rain boots on her little feet. "You look cold and wet," the fox girl confronted. "Would you like to come inside and warm up with me? My mom made soup, if you're hungry." Jesse was drenched from head to toe, and she was shivering a bit from the cold rain. It had also been five days since the last time she had eaten, but she really didn't want to go inside with a stranger.
"No thanks," Jesse replied reluctantly. "Are you sure?" The girl asked. "You can have a warm place to sleep, and you can have some food." "I'm sure," Jesse lied. But the fox girl still looked concerned. "It's up to you," the girl said with a shrug. "But if you ever do get hungry, here. Take this." She then handed Jesse a peanut butter sandwich. "I wanted to eat it for lunch, but then I forgot about it. I felt it would be more important for you to have it." "Thanks," Jesse mumbled with a smile.
Suddenly Jesse heard a voice. "Chip!" It called. "Come back inside, honey, or you'll catch a cold!" "Coming!" The fox girl shouted back. "I'm sorry, but my mom is calling me. I have to go, goodbye!" "Goodbye," Jesse replied with a smile as she waved goodbye.
The rain stopped just before dawn, and Jesse was fast asleep until she suddenly bounced up in surprise. She had just woken up from the dream she had about her and the girl who gave her a sandwich last night. In the dream, the two kids were walking up to her fathers castle, ready to fight him, along with eight other people named Fan, Travis, Chad, Popcorn, Rocket, Blue, Kaylz and Maiden. She wondered what all of this was about. I have a feeling that girl and I will meet again one day... She thought. And she'll be of some use.
