I let out a huge sigh as I walk towards my new apartment. I moved in without any problems and I'm happy to say things are looking bright. I got my job at Arkham Asylum, which starts tomorrow. I remember when I told my parents the great news of me leaving to start a new life in Gotham...

*Flashback*

I woke up to the smell of pancakes. Oh dear...mother made the best pancakes. Then I realized today was the day I would find out if I got accepted to work at Arkham Asylum. I knew my parents would never approve and think I was crazy to want to go, but it's always been a dream of mine to pick the brains of the most insane criminals I know of. I want to find their purpose for doing what they do, which is killing people, stealing, destroying anything in sight, etc.

As I walked past my parents enjoying their pancakes in the dining room I heard my stomach protest. I decided to grab a pancake and quickly run to the front door, telling my mom I was going to check the mail. I walked towards the mail box before I noticed how cold it was, forgetting it was winter. I grabbed the mail and ran inside, checking for the envelope that would change my world.

There it was.

It read 'Dear Angie, we are pleased to inform you that after scanning your resume and reviewing your files we decided it would be in our best interest to have to work for Arkham Asylum. We must warn you that the criminals are extremely dangerous and some are unstable. If you do not mind the risk, we would be honored to have you join the staff. We would like for you to start work next week starting Monday. Thank you.'

My heart stopped. I finally got to work at Arkham Asylum. The only problem was...how was I going to explain this to my parents...

*End of Flashback*

The sound of my new kitten purring for attention snapped me back to reality. I finally walked into my new home and began to unpack. Although Gotham is known for the violence and crime, I didn't see any so far. And I was grateful for it.
