✦Maggie's POV✦

Purging ends at six in the morning & its currently ten o'clock at night. It's really dark, the street lights are flashing & it's really quiet. We're still in Chino hills & I wanna cry because of how bad my feet & shoulders are hurting.

"Can we please just stop at a hotel & sleep for about three hours? I'm exhausted." I exclaimed & Carter agreed.

"Yeah I'm tired as hell. We just have to find a hotel fir-"

"Found one." I said while pointing to a tall slender building with a busted front door. This is Cali for goodness sakes. There are hotels every fucking where. Carter smiled in that direction before heading towards the building. Once we were inside, Carter grabbed a random room key & we begin walking up the steps.

"4e." He read the room key out loud as we reached the fourth floor. We walked the halls & stopped when we reached the door. Carter opened the door & jumped onto the first bed he saw. There were only two beds in the room & Jaylnn plopped down on the other one. I looked between her & Carter then sighed.

"You could bunk with Carter." Jaylnn said before laying down.

"What the fuck? No she won't. She can sleep with you. Your both girls." He objected & my feelings were hurt. Not because he didn't want me to sleep in the same bed as me, but because of the hatred he shows towards me.

"Carter why do you hate me so much?" I asked while dropping my bag by the door, taking my shoes off & walking over to his bed. I sat on his bed & fiddled with my watch on my wrist. I heard him sigh & sit up. I took the scrunchies off of the ends of my braids & took both of them out. I massaged my scalp with my fingers & sighed in bliss.

"I don't..... It's not that I hate you Maggie...it's just..... I'm not too fond of your attitude." He said & I laughed a little.

"You could have told me that before but I'm not sure that's something I can control, Carter." I said while yawning. Before Carter could talk, we heard Jaylnn's light snores & I giggled. Carters head shot up when he heard me laugh & I immediately stopped.

"What's the matter?" I asked while yawning once more & Carter smiled a little. He shook his head & laid down.

"We should get some rest." He said & I nodded. Sadly, we had to share the same blanket but I wanted to leave space between the two of us. We laid with our backs facing each other & the room was silent besides our breathing & Jaylnn's snores.

"Maggie...?" Carter whispered startling me a little.

"Yes, Carter?"

"Uhm can I hold you?" He asked & my heart pace pick up immediately.

"I mean.... I-If your comfortable with it b-but if not then I-"

I cut him off by turning around & tugging on the back of his sweatshirt. He turned around to face me & I looked up at him. I scooted closer to him & snuggled up in his chest. He wrapped his arm around my waist & pulled me as close as possible.

"Thank you." He said before leaning close to me & pressing his soft lips to my forehead.

"Mhm." I hummed in response before closing my eyes & buring my face in the crook of his neck. He ran his fingers over my scalp soothingly & kissed my forehead once more. I felt my eyes getting heavier so I let them close shut.

My eyes flew open at the sound of Jaylnn's alarm going off on her phone & I sighed. I actually slept well for those three hours with Carter. I tried to move my arm but that was when I realized that our hands were interlocked under the covers. I blushed & looked up at Carter who was still asleep. I kissed his cheek & shoved him lightly.

"Carter we have to go." I said while tugging my hand from his grip but he tightened it. I giggled & his eyes fluttered open. He smiled up at me & yawned. He sat up with his hand still interlocked with mines & I bit my lip. I tug at my hand to get his attention & he looked down at our hands. He blushed & immediately let go of my hand.

"My bad." He said & I laughed.

"That's fine."

"Alright come on love birds. We gotta get going. It's 2:15." Jaylnn said & my eyes widened.

"Shit we slept over time." I said & I heard Carter sigh. I ran my fingers through my hair & begin to put my two braids back in. Once I was finished, I walked to the bathroom & splashed cold water on my face before closing the door. I did my business & once I was finished, I left the bathroom & went back to the sleeping area. Carter & Jaylnn were talking about god knows what while I grabbed my duffle bag.

"Ready?" I asked & they both nodded before leaving out of the door with me. Once we reached the outside of the building I took a breath of air & began to walk.

The only thing that ran through my mind was the way Carter held me, the way his fingertips felt on my scalp & how tight his hand was interlocked with mines. He made me feel special a few hours ago & I probably won't forget that even though it was just me sleeping in the same bed as him & him holding me. I know I won't forget the way his lips felt on my forehead, the way he let them linger. I don't think anyone's ever made me feel the way he did a few hours ago & we didn't really share an intimate moment. It was just him holding me & that's okay. I'd let him hold me for hours if I was able too. I like Carter a lot & I hope tonight isn't the last night I get to see him or spend time with him.

Honestly, I want him to be mines
