Chapter Three

Eugene

"A memory? How did you get a memory? A memory of what?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"It... I don't want to say." Taehyung sighed.

"No, tell me. It's ok." I assured him. He seemed to be contemplating, because he stood there looking at the ground for a moment.

"No. I'm not going to tell you." He shook his head. I was becoming frustrated at his stubbornness.

"Just tell me!" I whined.

"Nope. You'll get upset. It made me upset."

"I don't care."

"Chen Eugene!"

"Kim Taehyung!"

"Yah! You really want to know? Fine, I'll tell you. It was the first time Youngji and I had sex after we got married. Happy?" He huffed. I fell silent, not knowing how to reply. My mouth formed an 'o' shape as I was trying to figure out how to reply. "I told you it wasn't pleasant."

"Why did that upset you?" I pondered.

"Because it's proof that I was with her in the past. We only met for a few minutes today, but that was enough for me to say that I do not like her one bit." He answered truthfully.

"You got married young. You were 19 when we met." I said as I thought about it.

"Yes. Getting married young is what it's like in Jupiter. If you're not married between the ages of 14-18, then you're looked down upon... Oh, I remembered something else!" He cheered.

"Wait, how are you thousands of year-" I was cut off by Taehyung as he already knew what I was going to ask.

"1000 earth years is 1 year for Jupiter. But now that I'm human, I age how humans do. Hence why I am now 21." He smiled, proud that he's started to remember certain things.

"That's fascinating." I nodded my head, taking in the information. "I'm glad you're telling me. I want you to tell me everything you remember, even if you think it might upset me. I don't care, ok? I just want your trust." I told him, bringing my hand to his face and resting it on his cheek gently.

"And you have my trust. I want you to have my trust also, so if I don't tell you something, it's for the best. We've been together for 2 years now. Please have faith in me." He pleaded and I sighed, thinking about how to reply.

"I love you." I slightly smiled, bringing my lips to his for a short, sweet kiss. When we pulled away, he returned the smile.

"And I love you too." My phone started buzzing from the couch, and I quickly ran downstairs to get it.

"Jin? What happened?" I pried.

Jin

"Hello? Hana?" I answered the phone nervously, not too sure what will come out of the situation.

"Hey bub. How are you?" She was chirpy, and I hated the fact that I was about to bring down her mood.

"Actually, I'm not too good... I—How can I put this? Well, I saw you making out with Jimin... again." I was straightforward with her, and I slightly scrunched up my face as a pang of guilt hit me. I'm not the best at these.

"What? Me? But, love... I'm not seeing Jimin."

"Hana, please don't lie to me." I sighed, brushing my hand through my hair.

"I'm not lying. I don't even see Jim-" I cut her off quickly, already getting tired of her excuses.

"I said don't lie!" I yelled, getting up off the couch quickly. She was silent. "Well?!" I pushed, a hint of attitude in my voice.

"Ok, fine! I'm still seeing him. I never stopped after high school to be completely honest with you. I just couldn't pick between the two of you. I love you Jin. I really do, but I have something there for Jimin as well, and I can't just ignore it. He's willing to give me what I want from him and I'm not just going to throw away that opportunity." Hana yelled at me like she was saying the right thing.

"You're kidding me right now. Are you hearing yourself? This is ridiculous. Consider yourself free from me, because we're no longer together. Don't even try crawling back again, because the answer will be no!" I grunted as I kicked a pillow that was on the floor.

"Jin, don't be like that..." She trailed off.

"No, Hana. You don't be like that. Do you realize that you're being slutty? You hated that word, and now you've become it. How do you keep expecting me to just be ok with you going around with Jimin doing god knows what? We are done!" Then I hung up on her as I threw my phone across the room. It smashed against the wall, thankfully not breaking. I huffed as I went over to pick it up and dialed Eugene's number. In times like these, I know I can always count on my best friend of many, many years. She answered the phone rather slowly.

"Jin? What happened?" She pried straightaway. I explained everything to her as she let out quiet sounds that told me she understood the situation.

"What a bitch... and Jimin too, what the fuck...?" She swore to herself.

"It's seriously over with her. I'm not putting up with her bullshit anymore."

"What happened with Jimin? Hi Jin." I heard Taehyung in the background.

"Nothing love. I'll tell you later." I could tell that Eugene had moved her face away from the phone as she had her short conversation with her boyfriend. "Taehyung says hello." She told me when she put the phone speaker back to her mouth.

"Tell him I say hi." I smiled. I'm extremely happy for Eugene and Taehyung. They've had their rough patches, but they're perfect for each other. Seeing Eugene with someone other than Jimin was a little odd at first, but I quickly got used to the nice guy. Eugene is like a sister to me, since we've known each other from a young age, and I know when she's happy; But she is ecstatic to be with Taehyung. Her eyes have never been brighter. Her smile has never been wider. Everything about her face has changed beautifully and I've never felt like the proud big brother I always wanted to be for the troubled soul.
