-Lola's Pov-

'Rustle'

My head flicked round to where the noise came from.

'Rustle'

There it was again, this time I saw the bush move slightly. I pounced. I felt a warmth in my hands before it faded. It's almost hard to believe I just killed the creature in my hands; it's hard to believe I'm joint first for most wanted criminal in the country before I hit my eleventh birthday, but that's what my life is like now so I should believe it and get on with it.

Straining my eyes, try to identify the birdlike creature in my hands. The light provided by the slither moon in the sky wasn't nearly enough light for me to see clearly, so I give up trying to see and stand making my way back to the recently abandoned building Sirius and I have been occupying since he dragged us to see Harry at his Aunt's house and almost got us caught. It was draughty, the heavy wooden door didn't quite fit it's frame and the floor was littered with newspapers and other miscellaneous objects. (I have a theory that the previous owner was a hoarder).

There was a glow escaping from the crack underneath the door telling me that Sirius was back from his probably failed attempt to hunt for some food. I hide the bird behind my back and enter the room. Sirius is up like a bolt from his perch on a moth eaten couch, waving a piece of kindling at me in a 'threatening' manner

"Oh, it's just you." Sirius dropped the kindling and smiled halfheartedly. "No luck with the food either then?"

He seemed to answer his own question as She sat back down disappointment clear on his face which made it impossible to hide my smirk.

"You know Sirius not everyone is as incompetent as you when it comes to hunting" I revealed the bird in an overly dramatic manner causing Sirius's face to light up in a way it seems only food can do.

"Right!" Sirius clapped his hands together. "Do you have any idea how to cook it?"

-Emma's Pov-

'Rustle'

My eyes darted open as the sound awoke my from my slumber.

'Rustle'

It was coming from the edge of my bed. I crawled over to see Ellie rummaging through my trunk.

"What are you doing?" I questioned my voice barely louder than a whisper. She didn't look up as she replied.

"Looking for something." At this point I was completely confused.

"What could you possibly be looking for in MY trunk at the crack of dawn!" I asked, annoyed (don't judge me its too early in the morning to find your friends going through your stuff).

"Dunno. Love letters, diaries, anything at all incriminating." By now I was staring at her in disbelief.

"I've only been out of prison for a month or so how could I have possibly managed to start a social life in such little time?" She finally looked up, grinning wolfishly.

"I don't know you could be a really social person"

How on earth could she think I'm a social person. ME. I've only talked to 13 people since I've got here. And that includes a hat and a dementor! (I know their not people but 11 is a depressing number even in my own head, especially since I've only spoken one word to at least three of them)

"This is ridiculous!" I exclaimed before grabbing my wand and shutting the trunk lid with magic. Ellie let out an audible protest, but I ignored her turning over and trying to get back to sleep.

-Lola's  Pov-

We huddled around a dying fire in silence. Trying to keep warm as the strong autumn wind blew through a broken window, occasionally threatening to extinguish the embers as caused the old newspaper pages on the floor to scatter like rats. I chewed contently on a slightly burnt bird leg (neither of us were very good at cooking) while Sirius devoured through his ravenously. For a moment I thought he was going to eat the bone as well but the wind decided at that moment to pick up and blow a price of newspaper in his face. It was newer, less than a week old, with almost half of it taken up by a photo of a girl. A scowling brunette looking cleaner but no less a tired. A burst of excitement bubbled through me. It was Emma's face glaring up at us. The headline read:

CONVICTED CRIMINAL FOUND "INNOCENT" AND SET FREE

The article continued on with the same biased tone talking more about the crime she'd been accused of and barely mentioned the fact she was cleared of all charges. It did, however, find time to go into great length about how she was attending Hogwarts this year and after five years in Azkaban surely she would be too mad to be housed with our beloved children.

Sirius scoffed at the thought which broke me out of my stupor. Emma was free and been allowed to go to Hogwarts which was amazing, but Sirius was looking at me with that glint in his eyes and that was less amazing.
"Lo-"
"No!"
"Bu-"
"No!"
"Please?"
I know what he was going to say, we had been having this argument since we left. Sirius wanted to go to Hogwarts and hunt down Pettigrew and I, especially after the night bus fiasco, thought it was a brilliant idea ...if your objective was to get caught and killed on sight!
'He could hurt Harry' Sirius would argue. And I would point out that he'd had plenty of opportunity, surely he would've done it by now.
But now Sirius had a better reason and my resolve was fading fast. I only stopped him because I knew if he said it out loud I would cave.
"Emma doesn't even know if we're alive and she still has your locket" Sirius pleaded. I closed my eyes and tried to find it in me to argue.
"Fine." I sighed at last. Sirius grinned, looks like we're going to Hogwarts.

A/N I know it's been like three years... I sorta forgot I wrote this. Sorry. I came across an old draft for a chapter 7 so I added a bit more and thought I'd post it see if anyone will read it after THREE YEARS!
