Chapter five

A/no know its been ages shoot me. *closes eyes* *opens eyes* I'm still alive well you can't be that mad. I'll just get with the chapter.

<Emma's POV>
I had to say goodbye to the boys at the platform and go join the midgets... I mean first years.

I went into a boat by myself and sat there waiting for someone to pluck the courage to get in the boat with me.

"Can I sit here?" Some ginger boy asked.

I didn't answer, but he got in anyway damn first years.

"So what's your name?"the boy said trying extremely hard to make conversation.

"Emma." I shouted slightly. "you?"

"G- wow look!" He said pointing towards Hogwarts.

"Big deal. It's just a building." I sulked.

Before long we were all gathered into a passage that led into the great hall. There was a low murmur of exited children as they peaked into the great hall. There were to boys fighting at the front of the huddle.

"Break it up!" I ordered taking charge and forcing the duo apart. "Lets see who we've got. Rockwood's kid and you're Lee Jordan's little brother aren't you?" The latter gave me an impish grin while Rockwood jr (yes, I just called him that) scowled.

"Take the mask off there are young people around. Oh wait it's just your face."Jordan jr said to the other boy as his grin widened. I'm really starting to like this kid.

Rockwood jr was about to say something, but he was cut off by a stern cough. McGonagall was back. "We're ready for you now." she said with a slight smile as she opened the door.

All the firsties filed in, gasping in awe at their surroundings I trailed behind slightly causing a ripple of unsettle as I passed. God, these guys are losers don't they have anything better to do than stare at me?

"No we don't." Some Ravenclaw shouted out. Sh*t I said that out loud.

The hall went silent as Dumbledore stood up. "I'd like some start of term notices before we sort the first years..." I zoned out, well, that is until he mentioned me. " and finally I am pleased to announce that a new student will be joining fifth year and will be sorted after the first years." Oh great. Now I have to sit through the entire sorting.

"Gabrielle Ashton" 'RAVENCLAW' I wonder what Lola and Sirius are doing. Lets hope whatever it is it's far from the ministry's reach.

"Emma Red" I'm gonna rock this. I smirked at all the school turned to me.

"Take a picture it'll last longer." I said and seconds later there was a snap. Damn you Colin Creevey.

I sat on the stool and the hat was placed on my head. Ahh Emma Red. You have horrors in your past. Things people wouldn't wish on their worst enemy. You're as cold as you look, but a certain little girl has wriggled her way into your stone heart.

Yeah yeah I know all this just do your job for merlin's sake.

Touchy, well you're definitely not a Ravenclaw.

"Are you calling me dumb." I shouted making the onlooking school giggle uncontrollably.

But the hat ignored my comment.

Needless to say Hufflepuff is out of the question

I roll my eyes 'nooo you don't say I really fancied myself as a hufflepuff' was my remark.

That caused another eruption from the school.

Once again my comment was ignored by the hat.

Which leaves Slytherin and Gryffindor but I don't know where will be better for you

"Yeah I can see your predicament do you put me in a house known for having awesome people in it or put me in a house known for having murderers in it? Since I have been known to be both."

The room is silent apart from a faint chuckle coming from the headmaster he seemed to find what I said highly amusing. I hate that nothing I do shocks him.

You're way to open about everything to be a Slytherin so better be... GRYFFINDOR!

Lee, his brother and the twins are the only ones clapping but I don't care. I sit in between Lee and George.

"Welcome to Gryffindor beautiful." Lee said as he put his arm around my shoulders. Everyone is staring at us.

"Remove your arm from my shoulders before I remove it from its socket." I said smiling sweetly at him. His hand recoiled as Dumbledore gained everyone's attention.

He talked for a while and then clapped his hands making mountains of food appear.

Obviously me, being the lady I am snatched up a whole lot of food making a tower on my plate.

"You'll never finish all that." Fred said motioning to my plate.

"Watch me" and with that I demolished it all. A food fight broke out when me and lee's brother (who's name was Ben) thought it would be funny to catapult mash potato at the Slytherins.

After the teachers regained order the twins older brother other wise known as Percy the pompous prat lead us up to the Gryffindor common room.

I was sharing a room with Angelina Johnson, Katie Bell and Ellie Ryan but we were to tired to talk so we went straight to bed. Only then, when I was lying in the dark, did I realise how much i really enjoyed being a kid again.
