The freezing wind nips at my face as I trail behind her cautiously, practically blindfolded from the darkness.

"Watch your step."

She hisses, her voice suddenly further from me than before. I lift my foot in preparation for it to hit something hard, but it slips and I stumble. Her hands are there instantly to steady me, just like before. I feel like a such a klutz around her, while she's an expert at this.

"How long have you been doing this?"

"Just because I get good grades doesn't mean I follow all the rules, Clifford."

I stifle a laugh, wondering how in the world she maintains her straight A's if she sneaks out every other night. And wondering how I've never seen her sneaking out until tonight.

"Good girls are bad girls that haven't been caught."

Her playful whisper in my ear catches me off guard, I didn't expect her to be that close to me.

A loud thump sends chills down my back and I call into the blackness.

"Y/n? Are you okay?"

"Jump."

"What?"

I question in a terrified tone. I've done enough blind rooftop jumping this night to last me till I die. I'm not the most graceful person. My limbs have always been a little too long and my balance a little too unstable.

I can practically hear her rolling her eyes.

"C'mon. You'll land on the top of Calum's Jeep. It's parked right here."

"How the hell do you see that? I can't even see my hand in front of my face."

"I can't see it, I just know. This isn't my first time. Look, I'll catch you if you fall, alright?"

I gulp down the fear rising in my chest and try desperately not too seem like the wimp I am.

Once again, I fall blindly through the air and my body hits the cold surface of the car. She helps me to my feet and plops down on the ground. I follow suit and open the door to the passenger side.

The engine starts, much quieter than I expected, and she pulls out of her driveway. I am relieved the headlights come on so I am finally able to see.

"Let's get this party started."

Now that I can properly see her face, I notice the light touch of makeup on her cheeks and eyes, making her even more breathtaking than usual. Although she really doesn't need those products at all.

We drive the vacant streets down to the party, where I just realized I will be the third wheel to the girl of my dreams (literally) and her perfect boyfriend.

But that's okay. These past twenty minutes with her and I alone have made the whole thing worth it. My cheek still burns from the sensation of her kiss and I smile from ear to ear, happy to just be there in the car with her.

Time seems to stop, her wavy hair whipping around her face from the rolled down window as she plays her music a little too loud for the time of night. The grin doesn't leave my face for a second as I sit and watch her sing along to her CD. I love that she loves music the way she does.

"We're here."

She says, shutting off the system and getting out of Calum's car in a matter of seconds. I sit for a little longer and try to soak up as much quite as I can before the pounds of the DJ's unrecognizable mix deafens me.

"You coming, Clifford?"

I smirk and slip out of the black car.

"Right behind you, y/l/n."

I follow her closely, wanting nothing more than to grab her hand as she leads me through the groups of people. She responds in polite "hi's" to her friends here and there, but she is determined to keep going. I assume she's trying to find Calum, which is damn near impossible in this crowd.

"Where is that bastard?"

She asks herself with a smile, tugging on my arm to pull us into a gigantic room complete with the flashing lights and sweaty, dancing teenagers.
My attention is drawn to a couple on a black couch in the corner. They are making out pretty intensely and I can't turn away from them for some reason.

Her breath is hot on my ear for a second, causing goosebumps to raise on my neck.

"Pervert."

I roll my eyes and start to walk forward again, but something catches my eye. A certain something about the guy that makes me sick to my stomach.

A tattoo. A tattoo that flashes in the brief strobe lights and makes my heart drop. It's a horseshoe tattoo on the guy's forearm.

It's Calum.
