***England, the next day***
"The Germans are barely over a week away. There's no way we can hold them. Our best option is to surrender." One general yelled.
"No we have to hold out as long as we can. Our scientist are working around the clock on new weapons that can fight these...monsters." Another general yelled back.
"Even if they were able to create such technology it would take a year, at least to perfect it at best we can't last more than a month and a half." A third general argued
The general's argued back and forth trying to come up with one mind set before briefing the prime minister. Eventually the arguments slowed almost to a halt although they hadn't became any closer to reaching a conclusion.
"What are we going to do?" The first general asked referring to briefing the prime minister and the war itself.
"I might be able to help with that." A voice suddenly said, the doors to their conference room opening.
"Who are you? How did your get in here?!" Asked one of the generals.
"I, generals, may be your last hope." The stranger said. "You see, I have spent my whole life studying these creatures that you now fight against. I know their weaknesses, their strengths, and therefore a better way to defeat them."
The generals were shell shocked by this man who had just walked into their conference room claiming that he had what they needed to not only last longer but possibly win.
"You still haven't told us who you are." One general said.
"I think it's best that your didn't know my name, at least not until after the war." The strange man said.
The generals looked at each other suspicious of this man before silently agreeing that they had no other choice but to trust him.
"Ok you have our attention, now what is it you know?" One general said.
The man then looked out three bounded stacks of paper (Ford made a copy of each so he wouldn't have to worry about the original books being destroyed considering he is literally in a war zone) from his inner jacket pocket and said "Enough to fill three books."
***back in Gravity Falls, the start of that same day***
"Hey Dipper let's go do something. Let's go explore the woods or something." Mabel said."Huh?" Dipper said looking up from the manuscript he was starting to read yesterday (aka journal 3). "Mabel look at this, is a whole book full of studies if the strange things and creatures in Gravity Falls. Gnomes, minotaurs, zombies, eye bats, and so many other things."
Mabel sat down next to Dipper looking over his shoulder.
"What if we go look for these creatures!" Mabel said. "It will be like a mystery from one if your boring books only better."
"You mean Sherlock Holmes?" Dipper asked.
"I guess." Mabel said. "Come on Dipper it will be fun. Plus haven't you always wanted to solve mysteries of your own?"
Dipper didn't need much convincing after that. They both went down the stairs quickly and out into the woods. Dipper flipping through the journal trying to identify the things he saw in the woods to find in the journal even if they wouldn't be considered magical.
It wasn't that hard to find magical things when you were looking for it and soon enough, Dipper and Mabel soon found a group of gnomes. Unfortunately it was more like the gnomes found them.
