Malice In Wonderland

Chapter 6

My whole body is numb. I feel as though I am dead. Right now, even pain would be a gift to me, because then I would know that I'm still alive.

I've been chained up all night and haven't slept a wink. With just my luck the door smashes open and I'm being unchained. Only this time the hands don't feel like my masters. They feel much more..kind? The hands work quickly to unchain me but do it with great care. Once I'm free I turn around to see my savior. His eyes were dark, gentle, and had a hint of crazy in them. His dark hair was a mess and stuck up in random direction. Although being poorly put together, the man in front of me was rather attractive. I couldn't help but to stare at him.

"Yeeeaaah if you don't mind I'll just be kidnapping you now" he said with a laugh and threw me over his shoulder. Not like how master has done several times before. Not rough like master.

I let the strange man carry me away. I mean what could possibly be worse than what I've already been through?

The crazy man crept silently through the twisting halls of masters home. Master must not be home. The man moved so gracefully although carrying me on his back. Well now that I think about it, I probably don't weigh too much since master hardly fed me. Just enough to keep me alive.

We finally came to the exit when a scream bellowed through the whole house.

"WHERE THE FUCK IS MY SLAVE?!?"Master yelled from the other end of the house. My savior quickly flung open the door and began sprinting. I had expected to see a place much more gruesome than what I saw. We were in a forest. Nothing scary about that. The only thing scary that's in this forest is master who was running after us. I clung onto my savior as tight as I possibly could, with the fear of master catching me and taking me back.

The man carrying me increased his speed and I opened my eyes to see why. Up ahead of us was a drop off, but my savior didn't stop.

"W-why aren't y-you slowing down?" I asked him in fright. We neared the edge until there was only twenty feet between us and certain death.

"Sometimes" he said, his voice confident "you have to be"

We got closer and closer to the edge

"As mad as a hatter"

And with that he leapt over the edge and to my surprise, we weren't falling. He let out a crazy laugh you would only hear in an asylum. I looked up and the only thing keeping us alive was a green umbrella decorated with the number 10/6. We floated safely over the drop off and to the other side. My savior turned back around and looked at my master. He then proceeded to stick his tongue out at him like a child. I watched as master's face turned beet red while he yelled a line of profanities.

"H-how did y-you know that t-the umbrella was going to s-save us?" I asked him once he had turned away from mocking my old master.

"Oh I didn't" he said looking up at me with a smile on his face.

"So we could've d-died?!?" I said in a slightly raised voice.

"Yup"

"You're crazy" I said shaking my head in disbelief.

"We're all crazy here"

And with that we continued on walking through the forest to wherever my new master was taking me.
