(Luke's P. O. V.)
Our so called "father" had the nerve to call us. How dare he even try to contact us.
I swear if I ever see his face again, I'll kill him with my bare hands and you better believe that I will. I have no problem with taking another life, and I suppose you could already see that by the number of lives I've already taken. Can you blame me though? If someone is threatening my family, then their existence becomes my top priority to eliminate.
I was so angry when Beau claimed that our "father" wanted to meet with us, so I simply grabbed Jai and exited us both from the room. How dare Beau even consider meeting with that monster of a man.
My blood was racing, and I could only see red. I pulled Jai and myself into our room, and then I slammed the door shut. I ran a hand through my hair, and then I took a deep breath while Jai simply sat on his bed. I was pacing back and forth again and again, and before I knew it my fist was smashing into our bedroom window.
Glass flew everywhere, and I could see Jai sitting completely still out of the corner of my eye. Not even flinching. I heard our bedroom door bust open, and then two pairs of feet scrambled inside our room.
"What's going on?"
"What was the crashing sound?!" Two voices exclaimed. Dallas and Damion. Now's not a good time boys.
"Please just-I need you all to leave right now." I growled, knowing that my rising blood pressure could only mean mass destruction.
"What? Why? Luke your hand's bleeding!" Damion stated, stepping closer to me.
"NO JUST LEAVE! If you all want to see tomorrow I suggest you all leave before my hands get on you." My eyes were darker now, I could feel it.
"Luke we can't just leave. You're gonna hurt yourself." Dallas firmly stated, trying to snap me out of my violent trance but it wasn't working.
"LEAVE!" I yelled.
"NO LUKE!" Dallas yelled just as loud in reply. Jai was startled by his raised voice, I could tell by the way he flinched and moved back. I looked over to him directly and softened my own voice to say,
"Jai, buddy can you please leave the room for a second?" He obliged, not even questioning my command. Then once he was out of sight, my eyes snapped back to Dallas and if looks could kill he'd be dead already.
"Don't raise your voice around him. You scared him." I warned, voice low yet still threatening.
"You do it all the time!" He argued.
"But he isn't scared of me!" I contradicted.
"HE SHOULD BE!" Damion now entered the argument with a loud voice.
"He knows I wouldn't ever hurt him." I said through gritted teeth, moving dangerously close to Damion.
"But do you believe that?" He provoked, causing me swing my fist across his face, knocking him hard to the floor.
It felt good.
"How dare you question my word." I hissed.
"That's the worst part! He trusts you when you shouldn't even be trusted!" He said cradling the left side of his face as he lifted himself up off the floor.
"What are you talking about? I've always been a man of my word." I questioned.
"Have you though? Cause I don't remember you ever talking about your drug delivery boy career at the dinner table." He stated, looking at me dead in the eyes.
He's known this whole time.
"You what?! Luke what have you done?!" Dallas asked me with wide eyes.
"Oh please I did it for you guys!" I scoffed.
"How is delivering drugs for money done in our favor? It just puts us all in incredible danger!" Dallas scolded, running a hand through his hair in worry.
"I DID WHAT I HAD TO TO PUT A ROOF OVER OUR HEADS AND FOOD IN OUR MOUTHS!" I yelled in defense.
"Does Jai know about this? Huh? How about Beau? Is he aware of this generous act you're doing?" Damion asked, knowing full well of my answer.
"I hope you didn't! Because that way, if you don't tell them, then when some druggies come after them and kill us all it'll be okay right?!" Damion sarcastically added.
"That won't be a problem. No, I've already killed them all." I sneered.
"How dare you-" Dallas began but my anger interrupted,
"How dare I?! No, how dare YOU! This was none of your business! I did what I had to!"
"It wasn't right!"
"Nobody cares about what's right or wrong! The only thing that matters in this world is to survive, and I'll do whatever I have to for us to do just that." I said, and afterwards there was nothing but silence in the room.
"You're gonna get us all killed." Damion said no louder than a whisper among the still silence.
"Not if our dad doesn't reach us first." Jai's voice suddenly filled the room.
"Beau just called. Apparently he biked up to visit dad in prison, but on his way he got the news that dad got bailed out." He added.
"What? By who?!" I questioned in disbelief.
"Some guy named Ricky." Jai shrugged, and my eyes widened.
"And don't worry, your secret's safe with me." Jai added with glassy eyes.
"Jai I can explain-"
"You don't have to." He gave me a soft smile and then he stepped closer to hug me gently.
"Why? Don't you want to know what's going on?" I asked, returning the hug but holding him tighter.
"No, I trust you." He said to me.
"Why?" I just wanted to know.
"Because you're all I have."
I dare someone to try and lay a finger on him.
Though, as this thought came across my mind, gunshots filled the air and we all took cover quickly. We all covered our heads, and I shielded Jai with my own body. It seemed as though Ricky and my father had found us.
Ha! Two can play a game of dare or dare.
