You yawn as you step into the kitchen and scan the room.
“Hello?” oh yeah. You must have forgotten. You moved into your own house three weeks ago. You walk into the living room and turn on the tv. The room looks a little dark. You shove the curtains to the side of their rail and walk back into the kitchen to make yourself some breakfast. As the bacon is frying in the skillet there is a knocking on your front door. You walk over and open it up. You have been expecting company.
“Hey, how’s it going? How’s the house? I see you haven’t burnt it to the ground yet. I must say I am shocked.”
“It’s great to see you too Fleck”
“I know it is. So tell me how is the stupidest little sister ever. Aw, you know I don’t mean that. How are you though? Really.”
“I’m great, this house is amazing. Except I’m pretty sure there’s a werewolf living in my basement.” The two of you laugh as he welcomes himself into your new home. He begins to walk towards the kitchen. “Hey let’s go this way, it’s much more, uh, scenic.”
“Scenic, huh?” He continues to walk into the kitchen where he sees the bacon you were cooking on the stove. “I see you managed to make breakfast. Too bad most of us have been awake for seven hours already. Do you even know what time it is?”
“Yeah, yeah. I know, but so do you, Fleck. I’ve always had a habit of sleeping in.” you reply.
“Sleeping in? It’s three o’clock in the afternoon!”
You flip the bacon in the skillet and look back at him with a playful smile across your face. You think about telling Fleck that the only reason you slept in was because you went to bed late last night. You almost do tell him, but then you hesitate. If you tell Fleck that you went to bed late then he is going to want to know why you went to bed late, and telling him why is only going to start a fight. So is it worth it? You think.
Well is it?
