- Sleep ; My Chemical Romance
It was cold. Everything around and about him was cold – The floor, the air, the world, his hands, his lips, his heart. It seemed as if he knew nothing anymore. It seemed as if everything was ending, for it had already thousands and thousands of times before.
“Don’t touch me!”
Kaden was lonely, he was alone–the sad part was that he was used to it.
“Get away!”
Screams. That’s all that ever existed in his world–screams.
His body was being held down, pressure building on the small of his back as the invader pushed down harder. Screams ignited from within him as he kicked, punched, and flared his arms and legs everywhere. He felt torn, he felt broken, as the wounds kept inflicting. His mind raced for answers as his heart nearly stopped. He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t feel. He couldn’t understand why. Why? Why? Why? Why?
Hot breath uncomfortably tickled his ear, whispering foul, unpleasant words. His eyes were wide open, bloodshot, and blinded by tears. Blood trickled down from his bottom lip as he bit down harder, the pain seeming to sooth him. Seeming to prove that he was still alive, which at the very moment, hated. He hated living, hated being alive, hated life itself. He hated people – hated the world. He hated things such as honesty and truth, for it seemed that they never even existed. He hated love, for it wasn’t real. He hated the ability to feel, for he hated the feeling of betrayal, loss, and abandonment.
As soon as the body above him collapsed upon him, he died. For he could never escape the evils of the world, for he could never die, nor escape life itself; whatever soul and liveliness that was left in him died. His soul, his heart, and everything that was ever good or alive and happy, disappeared. For the third time that week, Kaden died. And he hated the feeling of it.
Crash! Splat! That’s all it took for them to torment him. Kaden gripped his charcoal pencil hard as he stared down at his now ruined sketchbook. Looking up from the school-food covered book, he stared at Jake LeFroy and his friends as they laughed and mocked him. Food covered his upper neck and collarbone, as well as his shirt and books that were sitting on the lunch table.
