Chapter five
I lay on my bed listening to my ipod screaming along to the band making up half of words. It was Monday tomorrow which meant that I was starting school. I was dreading it, but it was inevitable. Unless I just skipped school for the rest of my life. But I don't think mom would be too happy about that. I hated living here, it totally sucked. I had no friends, and I was bored as hell. I never came out of my room except to eat, and even that was done in a few minutes. I had avoided Lee from the moment I saw him, he was my brother's best mate, which sucked for me. I still couldn't get over how much of a coincidence it was. Someone knocked on my door.
"Come in." I yelled, pausing my song. A maid walked in.
" Adreana, your father want's to see you in his study." She said. I had told all the workers here not to ever call me anything besides Adreana, if someone called me 'ma'am' one more time I was gonna slap them.
"Why?" I asked. I hadn't talked to my father since my first dinner. We both stayed out of each other's way.
" I have no idea Adreana. Just follow me, you probably don't know where the study is." She replied.
" Yeah your right, I have no idea. Come on then." I got off my bed and began following her down corridors. I hadn't come this way at all, the only way I was familiar with was the way to the dining hall and kitchen. The maid stopped outside a room that had a gold plate on it that said study. I couldn't help but laugh at it, even though it wasn't funny. I needed to get out.
" Just knock and go on in." The maid retorted as she walked off.
" Yeah that is so what i'm gonna do." I mumbled as I walked in. Like I was gonna knock, he was my dad, not the king.
" What do you want?" I asked him. His study was huge, like every room in the house. It had books everywhere. My father - Chris, as I liked to call him - was sitting there on his chair, with his glasses on looking at something in front of him. He looked up hearing my voice.
" Must you be so rude Adreana? I am doing you a favour after all." He said. Sounding all snobby. Every word that came out of his mouth just pissed me off so much.
" A favour my ass. A favour would have been actually wanting to know me from the moment I was born. Not ignoring me for thirteen years." I remarked.
" I had my reasons Adreana." He mumbled. Fiddling around with some papers.
" Whatever man. What did you want?" He sighed at my rudeness and looked up at me.
" Come sit down" I walked over to his desk and sat in the chair.
" Adreana, don't slouch. Sit straight." He reprimanded. I had a sudden urge to break something.
"Can you just get to the point please?" I yelled.
" So you got your credit card right?" He asked me.
" Yep." I grinned. I could not wait to spend like mad. I just needed something to spend it on.
" I just wanted to inform you that I don't want you wasting so much money on it once you begin using it. I don't mind you buying whatever, just be reasonable. We have spare cars in the garage so you can pick whichever you want to drive to school tomorrow." I looked at him in amazement. This guy was so dumb. Reasonable? Me and a credit card? Ha ha.
" Chris. A spare car will do for now, but i am going to buy my own ride to get around with." He flinched when I called him that. I knew he wanted me to call him dad, but I rather be dead than call him that.
" Yes that's fine Adreana. Just use your credit card to buy it. Take my wife with you when you go to sign the papers. I think we are done here. You can go now." And with that he put his glasses back on and carried on with work. I sighed and got up walking out of his study. Pain in my a-hole.
I decided to walk around the house, experimenting it. Hopefully I would find a wardrobe that would lead me to Narnia, at least there Mr Thomnas could be my friend. I was so bored here. I opened a random door walking into a room with computers everywhere. Probably the computer room in the house. Man, this house might as well become a school. I opened the next door coming across a room which seemed empty. One of the many guest rooms, I thought. I walked on through the corridors deciding to open a door that said DO NOT ENTER on it. Most likely Wren's room, i thought, as i pushed the door open without knocking.
The room was empty. It was huge with guy stuff everywhere. Bunches of dvd's all lined up on a shelf. Clothes everywhere. A huge tv on the wall. Bigger than my one. Massive speakers on the side. I was actually getting an idea of how to pimp my room from this room. I walked into the room observing the dvd's. I saw a couple of my favourite's amongst the many he had. Avatar being a major favourite.
" Ahem ahem." Someone said form behind me. Shit, I was so busted. I quickly thought of a lame excuse to explain why I had walked into Wren's room. I turned around expecting to see Wren standing there only to see a random girl. She was really pretty, these big blue eyes with brown hair. She was dressed to perfection aswell.
"Hey." She said as she chucked herself onto Wren's bed, making herself comfartable.
"Urm, do I know you?" I asked.
"Nope. But you are Adreana right? I love your top!" She expressed. I was wearing a white t shirt that said 'Who says nothing is impossible. I've been doing nothing for years.' on it, in bright blue.
" Yeah I am Adreana. Who the hell are you?" My rudeness didn't seem to affect this girl.
" I'm Alexandra. My friend's just call me Alex though, so you can call me Alex."
" I'm not your friend, but your name take's way too much energy so i'll stick with Alex. And once again, who the hell are you?" I questioned for the hundredth time.
"Oh sorry, my bad. I'm Wren's girlfriend. Have been since one and a half year's." She added on. Like I gave a damn.
"Nice. Well, just don't let him know I was here." I mumbled as I began walking out of the room.
" One sec. Adreana, you going to be starting school tomorrow right?" She asked me.
"Unfortunately, yeah I am."
" Did you need a ride? Seeing as how you don't know where the school is and that." She looked at me waiting for an answer. I weighed my options, if I went with her she'd begin to think I wanted to actually get to know her and be her BFF or something. But if I didn't it would mean following Wren to school, or even taking a ride with him, which sounded more painful.
" Yeah if that's okay. Just for tomorrow though." I cleared any future doubts. In case she actually did think I want to know her.
"Yep, that's totally cool. So i'll come get you around 7?"
" Yeah that's cool. Well, I was never here." I began walking out of the room watching my feet. I was wearing neon laces with my trainers and for some random reason I found it fascinating to look at them. They where so bright. I bumped into a wall, falling backwards as a result.
"Watch your step Princess." Ah shit. I looked up and saw Lee in front of me, holding me by the elbow to stop me from falling on my but.
" You watch your step." I retorted back. Lee began to laugh.
" If I didn't know any better Princess, I'd think you where avoiding me on purpose." He chuckled, raising an eyebrow whilst reading my top.
" First of all, my name is not Princess. That is some weird name, I lied to you. My name's Adreana."
"I know your name's Adreana. But I prefer Princess." He looked at me smiling. His green eyes burning into my blue one's.
"Whatever. Move."
" Ask nicely. You have anger problems Princess, don't you?"
" Lee, move before I kick you in places no guy likes to be kicked."
"Oh I am so frightened " I sighed and squeezed past him walking off into the corridor.
" See you tomorrow at school Princess!" I heard him yelling as I turned the corner. If he called me that one more time I was going to barf.
I sighed and stood there thinking. I couldn't remember where my bedroom was. Great. Just great.
