Chapter 22

Kimberly POV

I woke up to my phone vibrating over and over again, I was getting annoyed so I slowly turned over to it making sure I didn't disturb Royalty. I looked and saw that it was Jalen texting me at 5:30 which made me smile.

Jalen😍😘: Bae are you good? 😞
Jalen😍😘: Kim text me
Jalen😍😘: I can't go to sleep without you texting me back
Jalen😍😘: Babyyyyy
Jalen😍😘:Kim if you don't answer yo god damn phone, Kim!
Jalen😍😘: Just please text me when you can, no call me, I need to hear your voice
Me: Hey babe, I'm fine thanks for checking on me, I'm at my uncles for the night. I'm good Jalen.

I sent my text and a second later I saw the 3 dots.

Jalen😍😘: Thanks for texting me back baby-girl, I can finally go to sleep

I smiled before trying to go back to sleep which unfortunately didn't work and I figured I just needed to get my mind off things. I tried watching some tv but one little thing would just send my thoughts into over-drive. I slowly got up making sure not to wake Royalty and make sure she wasn't suffocated by the large covers and left the room. When I walked out the room I decided to just go the way I came which lead to Chris over the top grand stairs, I walked down them not knowing exactly what I was looking for just trying to get away from my over-bearing thoughts, I decided food would help, I finally navigated myself to Chris kitchen looking for anything to quietly to eat before I heard feet behind me. I turned around quickly to see Chris behind me without a shirt looking tired.

"Sorry did I wake you?" I asked giving him my full attention

"No, I've been up since we got here. I can't go to sleep when I'm pissed. It's just like ever since he got with that bitch Erica Aug haven't been acting the same. But that shouldn't be an excuse to how he acting towards you." Chris said running a hand through his hair and over his face

"Yeah." I said dryly. Chris was not helping me get my head off of things but I appreciate him. "By the way I don't know if I said it but even if I did, I really am thankful for everything you have did and what you are do-"

"Ayyy, you my niece" Chris said cutting me off "I'm a always be there for you, stop getting all mushy and come give uncle a hug." Chris said ending his sentence in a baby tone causing me to laugh and smile.

"I ain't hugging yo ugly ass." I said turning around opening the fridge again looking for food. "Bet." I heard Chris say from behind me before I knew it he was hugging me from behind and was squeezing the shit outta me, but it was the happiest I felt in a minute.

I smacked his shoulder laughing "Chris you ain't got nothing in here to eat. Like at all."

"You know what I had to eat when I was hungry?" Chris asked leaning against the counter

"What?" I asked closing the fridge because I obviously wasn't going to find what I wanted.

"Sleep and disappointment." Chris said dead serious causing me to laugh. "You think shit funny, but I'm serious. When I was hungry my momma used to tell me go eat some sleep, and that's what I did." I shook my head still laughing

"Chrissssss, I can't eat no damn sleep, feed me." I said

"Check the pantry I should have something in there." Chris told me as he pointed to this large walk in pantry. I looked around and decided on some 'Cup of Noodles'.

After I heated my noodles me and Chris went into the living room and watched some tv him making unnecessary comment on everything he saw of course making me laugh. He finally fell asleep, I guess he wasn't pissed anymore which was good. Shortly after I fell asleep peacefully without my thoughts interrupting me.
